How do americans which country they're from?

I was watching this video on YouTube and someone was asked where his ancestors are from and he said Italy. I've seen that happen multiple times already.

How is it that people know stuff like that? I imagine there's been lots of mingling over the century, how is it that someone can still say they have Italian ancestry. Wouldn't it be something like "my mother's side is mostly German and my father's side is mostly Italian"

Azelaic acid without sunscreen?

I'm still waiting to find a sunscreen that doesn't trigger redness. What works for me is an extremely basic routine of just a cleanser and a moisturizer. But I really want a sunscreen as well. I have dark skin and redness usually doesn't present itself as redness, but as a patchy dark look over the whole face. But that's how my skin always looks :( when it's completely calm I definitely notice the difference, but I absolutely can't see if something makes my skin more red because it's like spotting the difference between patchy slightly more patchy skin.

I was thinking of adding azelaic acid anyway and seeing if that would help. My reasoning is that it might get the redness down a little bit, which would make it easier for me to see which sunscreens help or do not help.

Or I might just ignore the redness that comes with the sunscreens and use the azelaic acid and hope that will bring down the base redness anyway.

Please help me if you can, I'm so done with this. Thank you so much.

How do you know if sunscreen is irritating you?

I have dark skin so it's very hard for me to see when my skin is irritated by something. It might become a bit more red, but it's incredibly hard to see when it's gone from red to more red.

For the people who are sensitive to chemical sunscreens. Do you guys notice other things with it? Things like stinging or burning, or is it mostly redness.

I actually don't experience any stinging at all. Nor any immediate redness (I think? I hate my skin tone), but it did build up over the day and it's still patchy 2 days later. So I figured, maybe it's not the sunscreen itself that's irritating me, but rather the fact that it's an extra layer of heat. In which case, I might just add azelaic acid and ignore the redness until it fades. But I don't know.

I really wanted to try a mineral sunscreen but it's extremely difficult for my skin tone. I've ordered beauty of joseon tinted sunscreen, but it's not truly a mineral sunscreen but a hybrid. But I wanted to give it a try.

Mineral sunscreen for dark skin?

I've been trying to find a good mineral sunscreen for dark skin, but can't seem to find anything good.

I have been eyeing the beauty of joseon one, but it's a hybrid and not a true mineral.

Do you have any recommendations?

Does anyone single cleanse?

I saw multiple people comment on a post that they only used a cleansing balm and was wondering, is that's common? Or maybe just use a water based cleanser. Does any of those options get rid of sunscreen sufficiently?

And please help me with figuring out how long you would have to cleanse. Say I want to stick with just one cleanse (either oil or water based), how should I do it in terms of how long to rub it in etc.

Thanks a lot!
