Parents: What’s a fun, simple mystery your kid would love to solve?

Hi everyone!

My wife and I recently started making an interactive kids podcast called Adventure Highway. Each episode is a mystery that kids help solve by spotting clues out the car window (screen-free fun, am I right?)

One thing I’ve been doing is asking parent friends of ours for mystery ideas, and it’s been surprisingly fun. The best ideas are usually really simple.

Some we’ve already turned into episodes:

A runaway dog.
A missing trophy.
A giant lighthouse pointing the wrong direction.
A town-wide power outage just before a nights of lights festival.

So I’d love to open it up to even more parents.

If you were to create a mystery your kid would love to solve, what would it be?

It could be something missing, something out of place, something that doesn’t make sense, or just a fun “what happened here?” kind of mystery. And of course it can be make believe!

I’m excited to see where your imaginations go.

For any parents looking for screen-free car activities this summer

Hi everyone! Hope it’s okay to share this here.

I’ve seen quite a few posts from parents looking for ways to make long car rides a little less screen-dependent. My wife and I were in the same boat, so I ended up creating an interactive podcast called Adventure Highway.

It isn’t just a story. Each episode is an interactive mystery that encourages kids to look outside the car window to spot clues, notice interesting things around them and help solve the mystery.

We’ve only released a handful of episodes so far, but we’re adding new ones every week. If anyone gives it a try, I’d love to hear what worked, what didn’t, and what your kids thought. I’m still refining it and want to make it as helpful as possible for families.

Thanks for letting me share.

For any dads looking for screen-free road trip activities this summer

Hey guys! Hope it’s okay to share this.

I’ve seen quite a few posts here from dads looking for screen-free ways to survive summer road trips.

I was in the same boat, so I ended up creating a kids podcast called Adventure Highway.

The idea was to make something more interactive than just another story. Each episode is a mystery where kids look out the car window for clues, spot things along the drive, and help solve the case while picking up fun facts along the way. The goal is simple. Get our little ones looking out the window instead of down at a tablet.

I just released the first few episodes and would genuinely love feedback from other dads. If you happen to try it on your next drive, let me know what worked, what didn’t, or what you’d change. I’m still building it and want to make it as useful as possible for families.

Thanks for letting me share.

For any parents looking for screen-free road trip activities this summer

Hi everyone! Hope it’s okay to share this here.

I’ve noticed a lot of parents in this community asking for screen-free activities to help make road trips a little easier this summer. My wife and I were looking for the same thing, so I ended up creating a kids podcast called Adventure Highway.

Instead of just telling stories, each episode is an interactive mystery. Kids spot clues out the car window, notice the world around them and learn a little along the way. The idea is to get our little ones looking out the window instead of down at a tablet.

I just released the first episodes, and I’d love to hear what other parents think. If you give it a try on your next drive, I’d really appreciate any feedback. I’m still refining it and would love to make it as useful as possible for families.
