Hey everyone,
I’m considering studying Civil Engineering (Honours) at Macquarie University next year and wanted to hear from current students or graduates.
How is the course overall in terms of teaching, workload, lecturers, facilities and practical experience?
I’d also like to know how good Macquarie is for internships and graduate engineering jobs, and whether you’re happy with the degree overall.
Would you recommend studying Civil Engineering at Macquarie?

Hey everyone,
I’m applying for UTS Civil Engineering (Honours) for 2027 and wanted to know how realistic my chances are with a TAFE background.
I finished my HSC in 2023 and have completed a Certificate IV and Diploma in Civil Construction Design at TAFE NSW. I’m also currently doing the Advanced Diploma.
UTS told me my Diploma can be assessed through UAC and that I meet the basic requirements to be considered.
Has anyone here gotten into UTS Engineering with a TAFE Diploma rather than a high ATAR? How difficult was it, and do you think I have a decent chance?I’ve also seen some people say that even with a TAFE background they were still required to go through UTS College first. Has that happened to anyone

How competitive did you find the application process?
