Is anyone else noticing more AI-generated marketing from new Decatur restaurants?

I've noticed a few newer places using what looks like AI-generated food photos, signs, or promotional material.

Does it bother anyone else, especially in a city with such a strong independent restaurant culture?

Frisco just reported another West Nile-positive mosquito pool

Frisco just confirmed another mosquito pool testing positive for West Nile, with spraying planned in several neighborhoods.

Apparently there have been 13 positive mosquito pools in Frisco this year.

Has anyone else noticed more mosquito activity lately, or am I just suddenly paying attention?

So what is everyone expecting Cannon Beach to actually do for McKinney?

I keep seeing Cannon Beach come up, and the scale of the project is kind of wild.

The planned surf lagoon and resort development is estimated at around $200 million, with the city considering roughly $21 million tied to the project.

With everything else being built around McKinney, I'm curious how people think this will actually affect the city once it's finished.

More traffic? More visitors? More things to do? Or will it just blend into everything else being developed?

Frisco just opened a 122-acre park and I didn't realize it was this big

I knew Frisco was opening a new community park, but I didn't realize it was 122 acres.

It has more than 10 miles of trails, a pump track, BMX areas, a splash pad, playgrounds, and a prairie overlook.

It finally opened this weekend near Teel Parkway.

Has anyone checked it out yet? I'm curious if it actually feels as big as it sounds.

So McKinney is putting $20.8M toward the surf resort

I kept seeing Cannon Beach mentioned around McKinney, but I didn't realize the city just approved more than $20 million in land-sale proceeds tied to the project.

The whole thing is supposed to include a surf lagoon, hotel, lazy river, hot springs, entertainment areas, and more, with the first phase expected in 2027.

I'm curious how people actually think this is going to change the area around Stacy and 121.

Is this going to be a huge deal for McKinney, or just another development that sounds bigger than it ends up being?

I finally looked at what’s actually going to be on the November ballot

The November 3 election is coming up, and I realized I hadn’t actually looked at the full ballot yet.

DeKalb County already has sample ballots available through its voter resources, and the county is preparing for early voting October 13 through October 30.

It’s interesting how different the ballot can look depending on the district.

Has anyone in Decatur gone through the entire ballot yet, especially the local races?

McKinney home prices seem a lot different than I expected

I’ve been looking at homes around McKinney lately and was surprised to see some properties sitting on the market longer than I expected, including homes under $400K and $500K.

I remember hearing how competitive the DFW housing market was, so seeing listings sit for a while caught my attention.

I’m curious if buyers are just being more selective now, or if certain parts of McKinney are seeing a bigger slowdown than others.

I think Marietta has too many good coffee spots

Every time I think I’ve settled on a regular coffee place, I find another one.

I’ve been bouncing around places near the Square and keep telling myself I’m going to pick one and stick with it. Clearly, I have no discipline.

At this point, choosing coffee feels harder than choosing dinner.

Marietta has quietly built a pretty solid coffee scene.

A $20 billion AI data center in Georgia still sounds crazy to me

I keep seeing updates about OpenAI’s planned data center in Effingham County, and the scale is honestly hard to picture.

The project is expected to involve 3.2 gigawatts of power and is planned to be developed in phases between 2028 and 2032.

Georgia seems to be going all-in on data centers and AI infrastructure.

I’m curious how people living closer to Savannah and Effingham County are viewing all of this. Has the project actually changed how people think about the area?

Is it just me, or has Alpharetta gotten expensive FAST?

I’ve been around Alpharetta more lately, and I swear every time I look at a menu, rent listing, or even a casual night out, the prices seem a little higher.

The funny part is, I still get why people like it. Downtown is nice, there are plenty of restaurants, and there’s always something happening.

But I remember when going out around here didn’t feel like a small financial decision.

Maybe I’m just getting old, but has Alpharetta actually gotten noticeably more expensive, or am I imagining it?
