Ex is spreading fake rumours... How to handle? (18M, 19F, ~1 month relation in 2021, ~2 close friends)

Hey everyone, looking for some advice or perspective on a weird situation with an ex from years ago.

Background:

Back in Aug & Sep 2021, when we were 13/14, I had a brief (~1 month) relationship with her. We’d been close family friends since we were 11/12 (our parents are very close friends), and we used to hang out at each other's houses and go on family holiday trips together, which is also how we started hanging out and dating. I was moving to a different country and knew a long-distance relationship wouldn't work with basically flipped time zones as we were young, but the breakup back then was still essentially mutual.

Fast forward to July 2024: I hadn't spoken to her in years, except for the first few months after I left us 4 close friends used to video call every other day, but since our families still have a connection, I messaged her to clear the air during my visit back to my home country to make sure there was no lingering awkwardness or anger. A few days prior to my message, she had hosted a get-together with our friend groups, where I met her boyfriend. During the chat, I found out he had been with her for 4-5 months before July 2024. I also explicitly told her I was happy for her, asked how they met, how he was as a person, why she didn't share this news before, etc., as a friend would ask. Since those conversations in mid-2024, our interaction has been strictly limited to like "Happy Birthday" texts once a year.

Problem (July 2026):

I recently found out, through mutual friends back in my home country, that she had told many people in our and her circles a few days ago that**.**

Lie 1 (known to many people): That I still have a massive crush on her**.**

Lie 2 (Told to ~2 people in HER immediate circle that I know from school): That back in 2024, I allegedly told her, "Tell me when you break up."

Which is so pathetic and sooo messed up to even think like that for me (Lie 2). I never said anything remotely, or rather, I have not even talked to her for 2 years. In fact, I even congratulated her on her relationship and said "I am happy for you" back in 2024. I also just found out that she had broken up with her boyfriend around late 2025/early 2026.

My best friend brought this up with me, which is how I got wind of this, and once I showed him the chats, he completely saw through the drama. He also mentioned that she has recently been lying a lot and tries to flex to all her friends. I assume she lied about me to get attention or show that she gets a lot of attention.

Where I Need Advice:

While Lie 1 is circulating among mutual friends, Lie 2 was passed down through a couple of people in her very close circle to my best friend. My best friend asked me not to explicitly mention Lie 2 if I confront her directly, so that her close friend(s) and my best friend don't get directly targeted for that, and I also don't want to ruin their friendship or stir up more drama.

But I really don't want my name or reputation dragged through the mud with these bizarre claims with people I know well**.**

Please help with this stressful and urgent matter.
