B+ in intro to Neuro

I genuinely don’t know how this happened. I had one bad test grade amongst the three but thought with the extra credit and all the 100% quiz grades I would surely end with an A. I am pre med and I did not see this coming. Do you recommend me take the class again to replace this grade?

Healthcare studies (BS) vs Biology (BS)

Hey guys Im trying to decide between a BS in Biology and Healthcare Studies at UTD for pre-health (looking at med, PA, or dental school). Which major is generally better for keeping a high GPA and which one is more manageable overall while knocking out all those science pre-reqs? I'd love to hear about your experiences with the workload and balancing it with clinical hours.

Retaking a class replace Grade?

So I retook CS 1436, and I passed this semester. How does this work on the transcript? Will it replace my old failing grade from last semester or take the average? And how does it affect my gpa? Thanks

I need an A in every class next semester or i lose my scholarship. Is this possible? I'm terrified

I just finished my freshman year. My first semester was horrid, I feel into a crazy depression with a bunch of family and relationship issues and ended the semester with like a 2.3 gpa. This semester I'm expecting to end with a 2.6 gpa. I was a biology major but from fall 26 on I'll be a psych major. I'll be taking 16 credit hours, all psych/music related, but i did the math and it seems I'll need an A in every single course to be up to a 3.02-3.06 to keep my scholarship. Ive already done a semester of aes advising and I think I only have until the winter to bring my gpa up before I'm put on scholarship suspension/removal? I'm going insane just thinking about it. Plus I have to support myself almost entirely financially. If I lose aes I'll have to drop out or take out a huge private loan each year. Is there any hope for me🤕? Should I take more classes ? Does anyone know any courses that are easy As?💔

Is mid-June a good date for freshman orientation?

I was wondering if I am still able to register for good classes/professors or if they would still be available mid-June? Or is that too late? For extra context I'm a biochem major

I'm struggling academically and financially. Should I drop out of college because of that, push through, or find another path to pursue?

I’m a freshman finishing my first year of college. I originally declared Business Administration, but I want to switch to Mechanical Engineering because I enjoy the technical, hands-on work.

I took precalc and English this semester (Spring 2026). Failed precalc and got a D+ in RHET, so I'm retaking them this summer semester. I was missing a lot of assignments and focusing too much on one class, which was Gen Chem I.

I told my parents, and they got mad at me for ruining their summer vacation, and that if I can't pass basic classes, I shouldn't pursue engineering.

For context, I have been paying for my own education, which is $6K a semester after aid. I have been working two jobs: an on-campus job and a babysitting job. I work around 40-60 hours a week, and I have to remain a full-time student to keep the on-campus job. I have a $3,200 loan at 18% and another $2,500 loan at 24.14% APR on top of the $6K in tuition and supplies.

I can't request for more financial aid because my family's income is too high, and my dad won't give me his Hazelwood Credits. My parents don't want to pay for my college unless I double major in business and computer science or data analytics and my first semester in college I get straight A's. Another thing is they don't want to cosign any loans for me, so that is why I have been getting high APR on my two loans.

Now I’m questioning whether I’m actually cut out for engineering or if I’m just trying to do too much at once. Part of me wants to drop out because I feel like I’m falling behind, no matter how hard I work.

I'm wondering if I should apply for the TEACH grant and teach for 4 years after I graduate to lessen the financial burden and focus more on my academics. Or maybe I should drop out and get an associates at a community college, try joining the ASME MET program, and just e a mechanical engineering technician. Those were a few ideas, but I'm at a loss right now.

Also, my parents are letting me stay with them, but they're asking if I can start paying them for rent and gas. I don't have my own car or insurance (my parents don't want me on their policy because it would increase their premium), so they have to drop me off every morning and pick me up. They're getting tired of me, but I have nowhere else to go from here.

Rate my schedule

Please give me any feedback you have (especially regarding professors). Does anyone know the difficulty of BBSU-1100? Also, will having no gap between CHEM 1311 and DANC 1310 be a problem?

Note: I won’t be living on campus

BS in Finance Subplan

For the finance students/alumni at UTD, which subplan should I choose? Which is the easiest/hardest to take? Which will make me the most/least salary? I've already researched into these different subplans, but I am just wanting to know from first hand experience.

Got a B+ in Gen Chem 2. Now What?

Hello! I'm a freshman finishing my second semester and I just got my grade for gen chem 2. I know a B+ is pretty bad, soo what should I do about this? Should I retake gen chem 2 here or at Dallas college? Will retaking it replace my bad grade? Or should I just take the B? For context, I'm premed. I gonna end up with at least a couple A-'s this semester and I already had 2 A-'s last semester.

how long does registration last? the whole summer? i want to make sure im not locked with the classes im enrolling in right now. if i end up doing better than i thought on an ap exam, would i be able to easily unenroll from the course i had selected and then enroll in another in july?
