Can I leave my car at the school?

I just moved into my dorm yesterday at the Andromeda Hall and am going back to Austin until the 22nd, I parked in the Green spaces at Lot T and I know they have a grace period I'm just worried about leaving my car unattended for so long. Will I get ticketed or something?

Housing for Freshman

Hi! I know this is late but I was wondering since I applied to housing this week, is it possible I can still get housing or even overflow housing for this school year? I have a 40 minute commute so I really want housing, also just a good opportunity to meet other freshman!

Rate my schedule

I’m taking ISNS 2367 online and TCC applied calculus since I’m not confident in getting a B if I take it at UTD. So if I get a C I can just transfer it over as a passing class and the grade won’t affect my GPA.

High school equivalency admission

I'm planning on taking my GED and SAT within this month, i couldn't complete high school because of personal reasons. Does anyone know of any students that got in with a GED? and i want to know what my chances are of getting in aswell (realistically). i asked AI and they told me if i got at least a 1225 on my SAT, a 160+ on my GED, and an application essay, my chances of getting in would be about 45-55%. Could anyone tell me the likelihood of me getting in? and if there's any other factors and i could use to up my chances.

JSOM III Progress

With some classes already scheduled in JSOM III for this upcoming fall semester, you can definitely tell this was a rushed job... It looks nice overall, but some parts make me a bit iffy. On the first and second floors, certain sections didn't feel level to walk on. I thought it was just me, so I walked over the spots multiple times and even lay on the ground to see if it was sloping up a bit. At least the Starbucks looks good, but their performance is yet to be experienced. I'm excited in general for the new classrooms, as you get more light. Still excited to explore it when it's finished.

How is northside?

Despite living over an hour and a half away, UTD has still left me on the waitlist for housing. I really REALLY need housing, and can not feasibly commute to the school. The only way i would be able to attend UTD is IF I DORM, as my parents would be willing to pay using the college fund they set up for me, but because UTD has not given me my dorm, I am forced to look for apartments, all of which are outside of my budget. Id have to cover my own rent if I were to rent an apartment, so I was wondering if Northside was affordable, and a good option? Also, what kind of lease is it? This would be my first apartment, and I’m pretty much going in blind. I make 9 dollars an hour at my current job, so I’m pretty much only able to afford their cheapest option. Is it yearly, or does the lease center around semesters/the academic year? I honestly know nothing about apartments and really need some help deciding if this is the best option for me or if i should just unenroll, since I can’t feasibly commute and there is a very low chance that this school will take me off their housing waitlist. If you can not tell im very stressed out and very frustrated by this situation … and really need guidance. Im genuinely fighting back stress-tears writing this

EDIT 1: i already emailed housing, to which they effectively replied “too bad so sad”

Also, even if i were too chose northsides cheapest option, i still wouldnt be able to afford it along with gas, and groceries and textbooks and everything else that comes with being a student. I calculated how much i make on average monthly and compared it to how much rent would cost and i dont even come close.

EDIT 2: Im considering emailing housing a second time and (professionally) begging for any accommodation whatsoever, but I’m afraid theyll take me explaining my situation to them as an admission that I want to withdraw my enrollment and they will unenroll me, which is the last thing I want. I can NOT attend their university without housing bus I also do NOT want to be unenrolled… what do i even do….

Is there a way to move in a day earlier?

Asking as the parent of student moving into CCS. We have a death in the family and need to prepare for funeral out of state. Is it possible to move time up for check in or even the day? It would help us a lot.

Is TechnoCulture actually that bad

I’m an incoming freshman, and I’m taking TechnoCulture with Anne Balsamo this year. I’ve heard that the class is pretty useless and overall not a great class. Is it actually that bad?

Also, are you allowed to use your laptop during class? I saw something on last year’s syllabus saying that laptops might not be allowed.

Rate my freshman schedule

Hi! I’m an incoming freshman majoring in Accounting. Please rate my schedule and share your thoughts on some of these professors. I’m a bit worried about the walk times between some of my classes. Can anyone let me know how bad the walking distances usually are at UTD? Thanks!

RIDE course expectations

Hi, I am currently signed up for ECS 2192, but I'm not really sure what to expect from the class. Is there any lectures as well as hands-on learning? Is it more individual work? Could someone who took it let me know how the class is structured and what the workload generally looks like?

Taking Notes with iPad

For those of you who use an iPad/tablet to take notes during classes, what are the best apps out there to use for this? I've seen Goodnotes being recommended a lot but I'm just not sure if that's also what people use over here the most. Any recommendations would be great!

Schedule and parking permit

Hi all!
I’m joining utdallas this fall for masters information technology and management course.

I’ll be commuting Thursdays (3hr classes at 1pm and 7pm) to campus from Allen.
(2 inperson, 1 online class)

And I was wondering if I would have to buy parking permits?

Any tips on parking and school in general would be appreciated, thanks!

Help!Incoming freshman

I am a pre-med biochemistry major and took A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, which give me credit for CHEM 1311, CHEM 1312, BIO 2311, and BIO 2312. I am undecided on whether I should claim credit for biology and skip straight into upper-level courses (3000 series) or just take General Biology 1 and 2 to ease into it, as I am in no rush.
