Can I accept an admission offer while waiting for other schools?

Hello!

I was recently accepted into UTD, which I'm super excited about! However, I'm still waiting on decisions from a few other in-state and out-of-state schools.

Some of my friends told me I should just click "Accept Admission" on my UTD portal right now and that it won't impact my other pending applications. Is this true?

I'm a bit confused about how the process works. Should I leave the offer sitting there until I hear back from everywhere, or do I need to accept it now to hold my spot? Any advice on the standard etiquette/rules for this would be amazing.

Thank you!

Admissions Portal Help?

Hi! I applied to A&M earlier this week and got my portal access two days ago. It shows that I haven't paid the "$75 UGRAD APPLICATION FEE" or the "SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION due at time of application" (even though I did pay $75 through Common App and completed both the scholarship essays).

Is this a glitch or something, or was there something I missed while applying? Thank you for your help!

Recommender for Rec Letter on Common App

Hi!

So I'm applying to A&M, and noticed that they only accept recommenders who fit in the "other" category.

I've asked my tennis coach, who coaches me outside of school, for a rec letter. When I added him as a "coach" it didn't accept it for A&M. Would changing his relationship to "other" be allowed?

Thanks in advance!

Where to do Early Desicion?

Hi! I'm currently a rising senior and looking into electrical or ECE engineering.

I feel I'm a fairly competitive student - with a good sat, leadership, multiple ECs, and working on some research that will be mostly submitted in August. Obviously, there's much more to an application than that, but I'm really anxious after hearing perfect students getting rejected..

Based on that, should I do early desicion for CMU, Stanford, or Cornell? They all vace such good engineering programs but they're also super competitive; I'm not sure which one to pick, since they all have a slight increase in their acceptance rates for ED and look equally good in my eyes.
