Is threatening a bad Google review for a free session considered blackmail?

What do you do when a client has unrealistic expectations about laser hair removal and then demands a free session or threatens to leave a bad Google review? At what point does that cross into blackmail? Curious how other providers would handle this professionally.

What is a good Vitamin C you've used?

What’s the best vitamin C serum you’ve used that’s actually affordable? A lot of these vitamin C products are getting ridiculously overpriced. SkinCeuticals used to be my goto, but I honestly can’t justify telling people to spend almost $300 on a vitamin C serum anymore… especially in this economy 😭

Do you get PFE after laser hair

If you get PFE after laser hair removal, don’t panic. PFE stands for perifollicular edema basically those little red bumps and swelling around the hair follicles after treatment. It happens because the laser is heating and targeting the follicle so it’s actually a pretty normal reaction. It normally goes away within a few hours to a couple of days. You can use cool compresses, aloe vera, and a gentle moisturizer to calm the skin, and avoid heat, workouts, hot showers, and sun exposure for the first 48-72 hours. If you’re feeling itchy taking an antihistamine can also help.

Despite the marketing, IPL is not actually a true laser.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses a broad spectrum of scattered light wavelengths, while real laser hair removal uses a single, focused wavelength that specifically targets the hair follicle.
What does that mean for you?
✨ True lasers are more precise
✨ Better at targeting deeper hair follicles
✨ Typically safer for more skin types when using the correct device
✨ Often more effective for long-term hair reduction

IPL spreads light over a larger area, which can make it less targeted and sometimes less effective on coarse or deeper hair. It may also require more maintenance sessions over time.

Not all “laser hair removal” treatments are created equal. Knowing the difference between IPL and true laser technology matters when choosing the right treatment for your skin and hair goals. 💡

Laser hair removal works by targeting hair follicles during the active growth phase. but not all hairs grow at the same time. Since hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are needed to target each follicle effectively.

Most people require anywhere between 6–10 sessions, and sometimes more depending on hormones, genetics, skin tone, hair type, and the area being treated. Dormant follicles can also become active later in life due to stress, hormonal changes, or aging.

That’s why laser is considered long-term hair reduction rather than 100% permanent hair removal.
The good news? Most clients experience finer, slower, and significantly reduced hair growth with occasional maintenance sessions to keep skin smooth.
