1.5 TFSI
Hi, I'm considering purchasing a 2022 A3 from a friend of mine who's selling it because he's buying a house. Single owner, 120,000 kilometers with a 1.5 TFSI mild hybrid engine and DSG.
All maintenance has always been done exclusively by Audi, with the last one about 3,000 km ago for a service and brake pads.
Compared to all other Audis with the same setup and the same mileage, it would cost me practically €2,000 less, as I'm a friend and need the money quickly.
It also has the Audi warranty, which expired in February, but there's the option to extend it for another 2 years for about €300 a year.
Oh, and it's never been in an accident.
The question is: considering that I'd use it very little, 6,000-7,000 km per year, is the mileage too high to make it last at least 7-8 years, or is it better to look for one with a maximum of 60,000-70,000 km but spend €5,000 more than what I'd pay?
PS: I'm more concerned about the engine than anything else. As for the timing belt , I've seen that Audi recommends a 180,000 km service life (I'd still have it checked), while I'd also check the DSG transmission, but he's never had any problems with the DSG in 4 years.
