A lot of you are probably aware of The Little Trashmaid, cause you know, mermaids? Well, if the slight chance this is the first time you're hearing about this, the author and Silly Studios have been running a gofundme (Backerkit) in hopes of funding an animated pilot.

They need 150,000 dollars, and they have 78% of the goal full filled. Momentum can always slow down, so hopefully some of you are willing to chip in and help that lovable Trashmaid come to life!

I'm asking as someone who's been very passionate about the character since 2019, and constantly feels the pain of seeing him get dragged through the mud, not just recently, but for almost his entire inception..

He's a character that makes me passionate, and kinda depressed at the same time. Doesn't help that most of the Shazam (Oh sorry....CAPTAIN MARVEL) discourse has been mostly negative and complaining about his name and how DC has treated him which....yeah, being bought by the people who sued your original company must be awkward...

But...do you guys REALLY think DC hates Shazam despite owning him? I hear James Gunn loves the character, so it makes me hope he's gonna try and bring him back into the spotlight in some way. Especially since he's a character with so much appealing franchise potential, to the point where I feel like a lot of childhoods were robbed of having a great animated series about the guy.

I mean, it sucks when the character you pick as your favorite DC hero, is also the one who arguably has the roughest comic book history in....well, history.

What do you guys think?

These are old characters from a group project that I'm thinking of reviving for a future project, as well as Art Fight possibly.

Anyone here got any tips on redesigning some of these guys? Along with better name ideas? The exception for Batty Raibi, I got a good name for him, but what about everyone else?

The premise revolves around a lonely girl who deals with both bullying and insomnia, and she has imaginary friends who get scary and threatening if she doesn't take these special pills to keep them at bay. With the help of a boy (Who is one of the few irl friends she has) they go out and hunt the imaginary friends who went around terrorizing the kids that are mean to her.

Don't know if this is the best place to ask this, but a lot of artists do post on this thread so....I thought I'd share my art style influences, and some of the characters I created.

Keep in mind, all of these art influences for how I draw human characters, but one bit of feedback I've gotten is that I need to emulate my influences more. It doesn't help that, I do occasionally feel like my art style is pretty generic looking, and trying to get professionals to help in an art course involving character design is taking forever so, I'm hoping some people here could help out in the meantime.

So tell me, look up all these influences and tell me how I can incorporate them, but also make it my own at the same time. Please?

Now, my hopes for making an indie series of my mermaid characters is for sure and uphill battle, but speaking hypothetically, who do you see voicing the main character, Mercury?

To get an understanding of her personality, she's impatient, impulsive, and can get annoyed easily, but she's ultimately still kind, compassionate, and cares about those she calls her friends, and can be mature and responsible when she needs to be.

Keeping that in mind, Which voice actress do you see voicing her?

I thought either Delaney Benson since...well, she's Jodi Benson's daughter and it could be sweet seeing her voice her own mermaid, but a friend of mine also suggested Cherami Leigh. Now I love Cherami Leigh, but I need to picture her voice coming out of Mercury more.

Again, what are your ideas?

I know neither are likely not high up on many album rankings (I'm of the opinion that all Coldplay albums have at least a couple of bops that are great) but I keep flip flopping on which one I like more.

On one hand, AHFOD has been out longer, and has probably more songs in it that I like or even love. Like Adventure of a Lifetime, Hymn for the Weekend, Fun, Amazing Day, Up & Up, but on the other hand.....Moon Music has Jupiter and Good Feelings. Which I honestly love even more than all those songs.

It also has feelslikeimfallinginlove and All My Love, which I also really like, but both albums have some of my least favorite songs as well...like X Marks the Spot, and Aeterna.

What about you guys? Which do you think is better? Also...both are at least better than Music of the Spheres.

I tried emulating parts of Mercury's wardrobe onto the Trident (Maybe they can be modifications she makes later when she fully owns it) but....any advice on how to refine it?

Which looks better? The star at the top and clam at the bottom? Or vice versa? Or what are other, potentially better suggestions you guys have in mind? I was thinking maybe some special gem in between the star (Or maybe the star can be a case for it) that can give mermaids the ability to turn human and back into mermaids? What could be other colors and details that can be added?
