YSK If you suspect there’s a gas leak in your house, don’t turn on any lights or electric appliances
If you suspect there’s a gas leak and are going around the house to check for smells, don’t turn on OR off any lights or electrical appliances, light any matches, etc. Don’t even unplug anything
Why YSK: In the case there is a large leak, the electrical spark may trigger an explosion. Unfortunately a man in my area was on the phone with his gas company when they informed him to go downstairs to check for a leak, he flipped on the light switch, and his house exploded.
