What should be the customer acquisition strategy for my new startup.

Hey everyone,

My business partner and I are currently building a two-sided marketplace. The goal is to connect brands (who post ad requirements and budgets) with influencers (who can apply for those paid opportunities). I am leaving the name of the platform out to respect the self-promotion rules here!

We are currently trying to map out our customer acquisition strategy and are hitting the classic empty-room problem: brands won't sign up if there are no creators, and creators won't sign up if there are no brand deals.

We've started testing the waters with social media—specifically pushing out targeted promotional content and industry-humor memes on Instagram to build some early brand awareness—but we need a more structured approach to acquiring our first 100 solid users.

For those of you who have bootstrapped two-sided platforms or agencies:

  1. Which side of the market did you focus on acquiring first (the supply/creators or the demand/brands)?
  2. Did you use direct outreach (cold email/DMs) to seed the platform initially, or rely on organic/paid content?

I would highly value any insights, resources, or case studies from this community on how you acquired early adopters. Thanks in advance!

What should be the marketing strategy for my new startup.

Hello everyone, my business partner and I recently developed a new platform called Trenzitt. Our goal is to bridge the gap between brands and creators by providing a space where brands can post ad requirements and budgets, and influencers can find relevant paid opportunities.

We are currently focusing on our marketing and customer acquisition strategies. I would highly value any insights, resources, or advice from this community on acquiring early adopters. If there is a more appropriate channel for this discussion, please let me know. Thank you!

TIA!!
