Infosys Off-Campus Recruitment Confusion: Got Rejection Mail First, Then Received a Reassessment Invite Afterward — Has Anyone Faced This?

Hello everyone, I’m posting this because I’m genuinely confused about my current status in the Infosys off-campus recruitment process, and I want to know if anyone else has experienced something similar. I applied for the Infosys Off-Campus Recruitment Drive for the roles of Specialist Programmer (Trainee) and Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee). Here is the complete timeline in chronological order. I first received an invitation for the online assessment with the details stating that the test was scheduled for 17th May 2026, with a duration of 3 hours, and it was a web-proctored online test. I followed the process and prepared for the assessment accordingly. After that, I received another email saying, “We regret the inconvenience caused. The exam has been rescheduled to Sunday, 24th May at 10:00 AM.” The email also contained standard instructions such as maintaining a stable internet connection, webcam being mandatory, login window restrictions, browser requirements like using Chrome or Edge, plagiarism checks, and other guidelines. Based on this, I assumed there had been some issue in the earlier process and that the test had simply been moved to another date. Then I unexpectedly received another email with the subject line “Infosys Off-Campus Recruitment Drive – Test Result.” The content of that email basically stated, “Unfortunately, you did not clear the test (or appeared for the test process as per the invite sent to you) to qualify for the next round.” At that point, I thought my recruitment process was over and that I had been rejected, so naturally I accepted it and moved on. However, after receiving the rejection email, I later received another official Infosys recruitment email saying something along the lines of, “We understand that the recent Round 1 virtual assessment came with its own set of challenges and circumstances may have been beyond your control.” It further mentioned, “In the spirit of fairness and giving every deserving candidate a fair chance, we would like to invite you for another virtual assessment.” The new assessment details mentioned were Date: 31st May 2026, Time: 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, Slot: 1. This was surprising because this invitation came after the rejection email and not before it, which is where my confusion started. My questions are: Was the rejection email an automated system-generated email? Did Infosys identify issues in the earlier assessments and reopen the process? Is the latest reassessment invitation overriding the previous rejection status? Am I still actively in the recruitment process or not? I received an actual date, time slot, and assessment details even after being marked unsuccessful, which is making the entire situation very confusing. Has anyone else faced a similar situation during Infosys hiring or previous off-campus drives? If anyone has experienced this or knows how Infosys usually handles reassessment situations, I would really appreciate your input. Thanks.

Scored 99% in NPTEL Certification – Hard work finally paid off! 🎉

Proud to successfully complete the NPTEL certification course Education for Sustainable Development with an Elite score of 99%.

Scoring full marks in assignments (25/25) and performing strongly in the proctored exam made this achievement even more special. This journey was not just about marks, but about consistency, discipline, and learning something meaningful that connects education with sustainability and real-world impact.

Huge thanks to NPTEL, IIT Kharagpur, and everyone who supported and motivated me throughout the course. Moments like these remind me that dedication and continuous learning always pay off.

Looking forward to achieving even more milestones ahead 🚀
