YouTube now defaulting to 360p / 480p after switching to Samsung 6k

Is anyone else seeing this? I'm using Windows 11 Pro (fully patched) with a Samsung G80HS connected to a Radeon RX 9070XT via DisplayPort 2 but I also saw the problem with an Arc B580. I have gigabit broadband so internet bandwidth isn't an issue and the network connection is wired.

Browser is Google Chrome

I have tried changing the scaling variously to 150%, 200%, 225%, and 250% to no effect.

The Samsung G80HS is awesome on PC

I've had the G80HS for a little over week and I've loved every moment. My main use is text work: forums (like Reddit), browser games, Excel, Word, etc etc. I also game. Mainly Sniper Elite 4. Text mode is the vast majority of my usage. I think this monitor would excel at CAD usage but I'm not a CAD guy.

Why did I buy the monitor? I am very much a fan of high PPI and the text on a 6k monitor is just much easier on the eyes. I'm not young any more! And games just look incredible at 6k.

Physically the monitor is big and too heavy for lesser VESA mounts. My monitor has no visible dead pixels.

I would have liked a second DisplayPort input.

I immediately missed my old monitor which had two USB ports on the side, which I used for a fingerprint reader and USB sticks. I relocated the reader to a hub on my desk. There are IMHO too few USB ports on the back: a business user will require at least four (keyboard, mouse, webcam, sound system), and a gamer will require many more (game devices, microphone, etc).

The white on this monitor is really bright - too bright for me, really - so I mostly operate in dark modes. Otherwise usability is pretty d*mn good! Text looks wonderful.

For gaming I've tried three GPUs: the Intel Arc B580, the Nvidia RTX 4090, and the AMD RX 9070 XT. The RTX 4090 would not operate above 60 Hz at 6k, because it has only DisplayPort 1.4 ports and the HDMI port is clearly HDMI 2 in name only. Note that with the B580 there is only one DP 2 port so you have to use the correct port. The Samsung 6k monitor is one of three, the other two being 4k 60 Hz monitors.

My main gaming is on Sniper Elite 4 which runs at 6k at high settings at well over 60 fps on the RX 9070XT.

The B580 is a beast at gaming at 6k on older games. 76 fps at medium settings on Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, this is faster than the RX 9070 XT (65 fps). Shadow of the Tomb Raider with XeSS balanced gives over 40 fps at medium settings (80 fps on the RX 9070 XT). Horizon Zero Dawn benches at 66 fps on medium settings and upscaling set to balanced (114 fps on the RX 9070 XT). I'm aware that these are older games but I don't have new ones. Note that the B580 system has a Ryzen 7700 and the RX 9070 XT has a Ryzen 9800X3D so the results are not strictly comparable, but at 6k I expect gaming to be GPU-bound. I haven't tested at 3k but there are plenty of 4k benchmarks around.

Who should buy this monitor? Anyone who values their eyes for starters! Beyond that this monitor seems to me to be for professionals who work during the day and game in the evening and weekends.

Scroll ring not working on Gameball trackball in Sniper Elite 4

Subject says it all. I have a Gameball Trackball on one PC and the scroll ring does not work in Sniper Elite 4. It works elsewhere in Windows.

PC is Windows 11 x64, fully patched. Ryzen 7700, 64 GB, RTX 4090.
