20 years old, thinking about going heavy into QQQM — need opinions

Hey everyone,

I’m 20 years old and I’ve been thinking a lot about my investment strategy. I wanted to get some outside opinions before I fully commit.

Right now, I’m considering putting about 70% of my portfolio into QQQM and the remaining 30% into VXUS for international exposure. I’m planning to remove individual stocks and just focus on ETFs.

My thinking is basically:
- I’m young, so I can handle volatility
- I believe tech will continue to dominate over the next 10–20 years
- Even if there’s a big crash (like a dot-com type scenario), I have enough time to recover and keep investing

I understand QQQM is more concentrated in tech and will likely be more volatile than something like VOO, but I’m okay with that risk if it means higher long-term growth potential.

I’m just trying to figure out if this approach is reasonable or if I’m being too aggressive / missing something important.

Any advice or criticism is appreciated — especially from people who’ve been investing longer and have seen different market cycles.

How did you hit $100K before 25? Looking for real stories”
I’m 20, started investing at 19, and my goal is to hit $100K by 23–24. I’m putting in $1,625/month across my 401(k), Roth IRA, and brokerage. Long-term I’m aiming for financial freedom and early retirement by 45.
Right now my allocation is 60% VOO, 20% QQM, and 20% VXUS. Risk tolerance is moderate-high, so I’m not afraid to be aggressive, I just want to be smart about it. I was thinking of increasing my allocation to QQQM and get it to 40% for more high returns but need opinions about it.
For those of you who hit $100K before 25: when did you start, how much were you contributing, and where did you put your money? Would love to hear some stories, any advice would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I’m 20 and got into investing last year. Started testing the waters with $20 and kept adding more as I saw returns. Now I’m sitting on $15K in a HYSA and $15K spread across my 401k, Roth IRA, and individual brokerage.
My current priority is maxing my Roth IRA first, then putting whatever’s left into my brokerage. I’m investing about $1,625/month total, living below my means, and still living at home so my expenses are low.
My questions:
• At 20, should I be more aggressive with my investments or let compounding do its thing over time?
• Is my order of priority (Roth → brokerage) the right move?
• With $15K sitting in a HYSA, should I be doing something smarter with it?
Any tips on how to better manage and allocate what I have would be appreciated. Still learning but trying to set myself up right early.
