Weekend with coffee minded folks

this saturday afternoon i attended a coffee workshop at Ettara Bandra. it was all about coffee, the founder shared his journey about the brand building too. met people who were doing cool stuff in their life and came along to share their ideas too. overall everyone made one interesting conversation where i learnt a lot.

Finally watched Karwaan, And I get it now

I randomly came across its trailer on YouTube, which is surprising, and then I decided to watch it on the spot without having a lot of expectations from the film.

I think it’s one of the most beautiful pieces of Hindi cinema that I’ve watched. It’s a road film with a very different portrayal of grief and feels like a warm hug. For me, it was Irrfan’s best performance, with a great story and gentle humour.

RSVP Movies are the A24 for Hindi cinema. Ronnie Screwvala has a knack for taking bets on unconventional subjects and emerging filmmakers and really dropping those underrated masterpieces which people notice and realise a few years down the line.

Rapido is high

Booked a Rapido to a friend’s place which was 5kms away. It showed 1.1km and 30mins. Initially, I thought it was a glitch, but then while moving towards the destination midway, the ride ended around 1.1km into the journey. I got charged full and the driver dropped me midway.

I said to the rider that you can’t just drop me off here and my destination booked, you can see. He said that Rapido says that the journey has ended, and from there I couldn’t get any vehicle and had to wait 20 more mins to get a new bike taxi. I hope this glitch gets fixed.

Mumbai needs more Daawats

So I’ve been attending Daawat which is hosted by The Bombay Canteen since the last 3 years. It’s really a great concept where food across India’s culinary specialty is served on a banana leaf and it’s a community space where everyone is invited and it’s a donation drive so you can pay how much you want to, there’s no fixed bill.

It’s a great initiative to remind us that we are such a diverse country with such diverse people and on one day we all come together and celebrate a Daawat- no matter what language you speak, what job you do, how rich you are- you can just be a part of this.

This one was so wholesome, amazing vibe, well organised. Looking forward to the next one

Dune 3 trailer has to be the greatest trailer I’ve ever come across.

Went to watch Odyssey yesterday and they played the trailer of Dune Part 3 before the film started. those 2 and a half minutes felt unreal. the fremen chants and visuals in imax are breathtaking. this was the best trailer experience ever.

For the first time i was looking forward to a film trailer in an intermission but they didn’t play. more than excited for the villeneuve masterpiece.
