Worth $50 USD?

Worth $50 USD?

Spotted a couple of these beauties at a local garden center, but I’m apprehensive about spending that much on a plant. They do look healthy, and decently sized, plus it’s a variant that I haven’t seen IRL before, so…what would y’all do?

So I tried something

I picked up these fertilizer cakes from my local garden center to use on my bonsai, and I thought about trying to use one or two in my alocasia and other flowering and fruiting plants now that growing season is here.

And I must say, it’s been a massive success! My frydek is flowing for the first time since I got her as a tiny little corm sprout! Fair warning: the pellets are a bit stinky, but since they’re all outdoors, they don’t bother us much.

A story in photos

I got super lucky and found these for about $7 or $8 USD each today, and I knew that I had bonsai mesh left over from my previous tree projects, so I decided to use plant safe E-6000 glue to turn two of them into pots! Not sure exactly what will go in them yet, but I have an idea for making a UG beaded plant for one!

If anyone here knows any relevant info on the pieces, such as an approximate date of manufacture or maker, that would be super sick!

Otherwise, I hope y’all enjoy. ☺️

Male or female?

This is my first nep to bloom so far, though I have quite a few.

Could anyone help me with identifying this flower?

Also, if anyone is in USDA zone 9a and wants the pollen/to give pollen (depending), feel free to DM or comment!

Anyone else have any “decorators”?

While I hate that it’s getting harder to spot my P. victori, I’m happy that they’re making themself at home! And I’m excited to see just how expansive the webbing goes over time!

This one hurt 😮‍💨 but even if I could afford it, I don’t think I could drop $165 on something so small…

Still was so pretty to see, though!! 🥰💚

And if anyone happens to know anything about it, please feel free to share!

I’m a newbie to North American pitcher plants, but I have countless Neps. I grabbed this little bog garden from a local garden center, and I’d love to know exactly who these babies are! I know what the selaginella is, lol.

So happy that my shade mix is working out this time!! I waited way too long to sow last year, but this year is gonna be great!

My P. Victori sling ate for the first time since molting, and I’m unsure if this is a healthy weight for them, as it was my first feeding since getting them over than a month ago. I used crickets.

Just wanted to check with Reddit so I can prevent this in the future, if it’s a problem!

TIA!

Not to mention that a lot of them glow in the dark, just like my uranium glass and radium clocks 😂

Just wanted to share my setups! Black and red themed one is for Greivous, my P. victori, and the ice themed one is for Atris, my A. avicularia. ☺️
