Regarding cloud saves.

I have both a gaming PC and a deck, and one of the biggest issues I have with the deck is saves. Steam has its own cloud save system and It works well, but a lot of games I play don't support it.

That means to actually bring my save data between devices, I have to manually hunt down the saves in the game files, and move them back and fourth with a USB drive. It's super cumbersome and annoying, and the biggest barrier between me using both for the same games.

I would think there has to be a better way. If there is, please let me know.

I'm thinking about selling my Legion Go (unless I'm just using it wrong)

A few years ago I got a LeGo1 because I thought that what was basically a nintendo switch running windows was such a revolutionary thing and I would get a ton of use out of it, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case.

For context I do have a desktop PC that is quite beefy already.

The big thing with the LeGo is that it's basically a gaming laptop in the body of a handheld, but with that it also has gaming laptop problems. Most notably the battery. The battery does not last long at all and I constantly need to be by a charger. Also like laptops the fans basically become fighter jet engines and get real hot. Now you'll probably say to use a lower power mode, but from my experience a lot of my games do not run well unless everything is absolutely blasting at max power. (Even lower demanding games which is weird)

The second thing is the size. You don't really get how big and heavy one of these things are until you actually pick one up in person. It's massive and very heavy, so I don't really feel like lugging it around with me when I'm traveling or going out, which is kind of disappointing considering it's meant to be portable.

Another big issue I've been having is RAM. It only has 16gb non upgradable, and a portion of that needs to be saved for VRAM. This has caused a ton of headaches and has made me need to monitor and watch ram more carefully than power in FNAF! 😭

And then there's Windows. In addition to not really helping the RAM problem, it's very clunky and not exactly meant for portable game consoles, so I often find myself attaching a mouse and keyboard just to get basic things done. HOWEVER, one thing I have done to fix that is install bazzite in addition to windows, and that has helped a lot in saving ram and making it more console like, so I will give it props for that, but of course it's not perfect.

Finally my desktop PC. Because it's a lot more graphically capable and I don't really take the LeGo anywhere, there's nothing really remarkable that the LeGo can do that my PC can't, so it's hard to justify using it. and using both at the same time has created some challenges when playing the same games, especially with save files. Steam has a relatively good system with cloud save transfers, but a bunch of games I play don't support it and have their own weird systems for save transfers, if at all. This has led me to have to manually hunt down saves in the games files and transfer them by flash drive, which is really repetitive and annoying.

So overall that's my situation. I find myself spending more time troubleshooting and fixing things than actually playing and having a good time, and it's hard to justify keeping it when I have a good PC that can do all the same things, and better. So now I'm thinking about selling it and getting one of those smaller, cheaper android handhelds instead.

That is unless I'm using the thing completely wrong and you guys can tell me how to get the most out of it. Please let me know if I can save this thing, or if my time and money would be better off elsewhere.

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this, any feedback/advice is greatly appreciated! 👍

What games would y'all say go well with the OG

I found one at a flea market, but I've had trouble finding games that actually work well with it considering everything's flipped around and it's missing a whole joystick.

I have a legion go 1 that I originally installed steamOS on, but my biggest issue with it was it wasn't really well optimized for the go. There was no way to really control the go's unique features, such as the joy cons or the power mode like I can in windows (I have both I am dual booting) so I switched to bazzite which has more go targeted features.

My system controlling problems were fixed, but bazzite feels off for some reason. Things in game mode feel glitchy and unstable sometimes, controllers randomly stop working, even if a game is deck verified I have to go out of my way to get it working, and a few other oddities I don't wanna get deep into.

I did hear that SteamOS did recently add official support for legion go 1, so my question is should I replace bazzite and try SteamOS again, or should I stick with bazzite and try to weed out the bugs?
