Hi guys, I’m 28M and I have feelings for one of my old classmates. She was in a long-term relationship (around 8+ years, I think), and as far as I know they recently broke up. I don’t know the reason.
We weren’t in touch for a very long time, but we reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding. After that, we started texting occasionally — nothing too serious, just casual conversations a couple of times a week.
The thing is, I don’t know her current relationship status or whether her family is looking for an alliance or anything like that, because I haven’t asked her directly.
I do have friends who are still in touch with her, but here’s my issue: last year I was in a somewhat similar situation, and those same friends helped me talk to another girl from school. She rejected me, so now I’m worried that if I ask my friends for help again, they might think I’m too needy or desperate.
I’m confused about two things:
Should I involve my friends or handle this on my own?
How should I approach the situation with her without making things awkward?
Any advice would help.
