Sooo considering for my AU I want to have Skylor as the main part of the Ninja team early on, I wanted to rewrite her elemental power, since I think having ‘amber’ as an element alongside the others with all naturally occurring elements would be a bit jarring.

That and the power of amber conceptually could be kind of broken, and considering I want Lloyd’s element to be able to retain the four elements of creation as part of this AU like he did in his early days… having two ninja with essentially the same powers is kinda weird.

And as far as existing elements go… I’m kinda limited. What do you guys think Skylor, the orange ninja’s element should be if it was not amber? I’d prefer if it’s something that’s naturally occurring.

Can’t be wind unless you want a little bit of a Jojo reference (golden wind lol) and I don’t wanna leave out Morro lol. And it can’t be stone in the bionicle sense as Cole’s earth element basically is both bionicle’s earth and stone elements combined…

Also the reason why the snake symbol is the one from Lloyd’s final battle kimono robes rather than the funny oroboros one is because I don’t think the symbolism of oroboros would translate well for her. lol. But if I were to redesign this from scratch it would also take cues from the anacondrai symbol.

Coming… when it actually arrives on my doorstep. Not for a while it seems.

Ever since I rekindled my interest for Ninjago (I low key stopped watching sometime after the possessed arc during its debut for some reason… got busy with shit I guess?) and was introduced to this particular character, who as you know is a formling whose design based off a Japanese kitsune spirit, I got to thinking… what if she was a full-on Kitsune? Tails and all?

So I got to work with designing a concept for her with this idea in mind ever since I bought the minifigure a couple a months back. This is still a work in progress and don’t worry… I’m not going to butcher the original parts… she costed me an arm anyhow.

But what I did butcher was a bunch of fluffy minifigure tails and some ears from a recent cmf cat costume minifig with some pliers. At this stage I realise that unlike the usual kitsune who have 9 tails, I’ll keep the four tails she always had as the minifigure would otherwise be too top heavy and won’t accommodate a long hairpiece like I used here. Eventually once I figure out how to make the custom a reality and properly fit the modded tail and hair parts together… I’ll then take a Lego city artic fox and stick some more tails on it, and design some custom decals to make it look like Akita, since tbh the fact that she was a wolf and not a fox like a Kitsune spirit kinda bothered me…? Idk.

If I were to actually make use of her mask, I’d probably buy a bootleg Akita and butcher that headpiece lol. But idk. What do you guys think of this concept?

So it’s a quick and dirty update since I realised that I could use these shoulder pad armour things as they came in all the ninja’s secondary, darker colours. This works great for these suits in particular. But I also did buy a whole bulk of these armor parts in black if you think all of them having the black armour like in my original post looked better.

Tbh this was kind of a missed opportunity on LEGO’s part. I mean… with that facemask print she first came with and the two swords… I dunno why they didn’t capitalise on this look more.

I… may have had too much fun with this.

“You’re me from the past? Eugh! Get away from me weirdo! To think I was once this pathetic!”

Now while Zane pretty much is a lazy custom, having just swapped out his arms for matching white ones, on the other hand, I found that using Kai’s forbidden spinjitsu legs works pretty well with his honour robes. Not nearly as perfect as the Jay or Cole I posted a while back but it works.

Also because some people got super pissed in my last ‘definitive’ post, I just thought I’d add a disclaimer that this is my own personal take on what I consider the definitive representations of these characters. Because some people just took ‘definitive’ a bit too literally despite it obviously being a subjective matter… lmao.

Really all I did was combine the honor robe print with the legacy zx print, because I wanted to keep the flow of the torso print consistent with the rest of em. Otherwise if I were to post Zane (which I bought his Honor robes minifig in full, don’t have Kai yet) it’s going to be pretty much…. ‘Honor robes but with recoloured arms.’

It’s not a bad thing in of itself but I really like how LEGO started printing the kilts and the feet for these suits.

I’ve got some more fun photos planned but for now I’ll just put these here lol.

I actually shot a bunch more scenes like this but I’ll post em later. And yes. That is Optimus freaking prime.

Like I’ve done with a previous post regarding Plastic.Crk’s Knightverse-styled Optimus Prime (which sadly I realise the Rebrickable page has been nuked for that moc… rip.) I saw this ROTB Arcee build on Rebrickable with free instructions and I figured why the hell not, I’ll build it. And after a few weeks she’s finished with some minor changes in the build, most notably in her torso, forearms, head and legs. And considering she’s… very much in scale with that previous Optimus build as per ROTB scale… even if the alt mode is a bit rough… I’d consider her to be a nice companion piece for that prime. But for the size and articulation, I’d say she’s a nice piece.

As for Optimus, he’s pretty much done as well so I’ll post some updated pictures of him soon, as well as a little… review? Stay tuned for that.

My reasoning: I saw an instagram post that showed Skylor with A DR Storm suit Arin hood and I thought: wtf that’s actually kinda close? So I bought a couple of gold movie hoods and urm… yeah that’s kind of close enough… definitely will look better with paint.

And cryptor: I fucking lost his headpiece lol. And his armour was painted on by a younger me who would have never had guessed he painted on an expensive fucking minifigure.

Pain.

Gotta be honest… the original DX suits kinda suck. Overrated and the design, at least to me, doesn’t read well as a ‘ninja robe’
