We had someone lined up for the school year but she just bailed. Care.com is a total bust so far. Is nannylane worth the price? There aren’t agencies in the area from what I can tell.

I’m aware this might be a silly question for what it’s worth.

I’m going to Oakland in October for a work conference and I’m really excited!! I’ve never been to California or the west coast before. Because I couldn’t get a direct flight into Oakland, I’m flying into San Francisco and I was going to take an uber/lyft/cab to my hotel. I do not want to get into a driverless car or a Waymo. They freak me out. I don’t trust computers like that. If I order an uber or a Lyft, am I like guaranteed to get a Waymo? My impression of the Bay Area is that rideshares and taxis have been pretty much entirely replaced by driverless cars.

Also any recommendations for stuff to check out in/around downtown Oakland are very appreciated! I’m giving myself a couple of extra days to explore. I’m probably going to go to the zoo and I’m considering renting a car to go to the Monterey bay aquarium. Do y’all have in n out? I’d like to try it. Areas to avoid would also be very appreciated. I’m not a scaredy cat, I’m a Philly girl, but a local’s advice is always good to have.

I am a picky spoiled princess who doesn’t like to drink tap water but I do still need water to function. In an effort to reduce single use plastic usage, I have 5 1-gallon jugs that I like to fill up at the grocery store and keep in the fridge and use that for water. I used to go to Whole Foods in jenkintown but now I’m in KOP. It is not reasonable to drive all the way to jenkintown just for water. Does anyone know of any grocery stores in/around KOP that have a bottle refill station?

I got my nails done at Q Nails last Monday and after a week the paint is chipping at the tips. I got a full set with gel polish. Should definitely be lasting longer than a week imo. I like to keep short/medium length acrylic nails and I like to get designs. Looking for the best place that’ll hold up to at least 2 weeks of wear and can do good designs. Bonus points if you have a specific tech you recommend!!!

My boyfriend and I are celebrating our first anniversary next month! Each month on the 12th we get Asian food (we had Thai on our first date on the 12th). He is obsessed with tempura udon and wants to have the best tempura udon in Philly. Does anyone have any recommendations? This is a special occasion, I will go anywhere in or near the city to achieve this goal of getting him the best tempura udon in Philly.
