Too late to change MOS?

I just went through an IST. I was a 12B but my new state didn’t have any slots near me, so the IST coordinator made me pick again. Didn’t have a lot of time to pick and sort of panic chose 14G.

Looked into what it was and realized I would suck at it. I haven’t gone to MOS-T school yet.

Any chance the leadership at my new unit would help me out, or am I hard stuck in this MOS now?

What volunteering opportunities are there for extremely shy people?

I would like to give back to the community with some of my free time, but I am absolutely terrified of interacting with strangers in person. I would be too afraid to work in a soup kitchen or take phone calls for an organization or something.

What kind of volunteering can I do that is still impactful and doesn’t involve talking or interacting with people? I live in the US if it matters.

[Hobby] [Revshare] Programmer looking for a Project/Team

Hi everyone! A bit about me: I’m a software engineer with 7 YOE in corporate environments (for non game dev companies).

I have a bachelor’s and master’s in Computer Science.

Primary Engine: Unreal Engine 5 (4 YOE)
Languages: C/C++, C#, Python, OpenGL, x86/x64 assembly
Preferred Time Zone: EDT (Eastern US)

I’m primarily interested in projects that need graphics programmers or heavy performance optimization. I’m currently learning GPU hardware and will eventually make my way to Vulkan. I have some prior experience in OpenGL.

Outside of that, I also have made various systems such as Turn-Based combat, Action combat, inventory systems, notification systems, API and server development, quest systems, etc. I’d prefer to focus on graphics but I understand some projects require multiple hats.

I can contribute about 10 hours a week to a project.

Feel free to DM me if you think I’m a good match for your project. Thanks for reading!
