Just wanted to say thank you for all replies to my previous post and all advice given. I ended up doing a small detour through Łódź. This added about 300 miles to my trip but it looks like I am doing a pretty good time. I am on modest CBR125. Originally I planned a first stop in Dresden but as the weather is really good and there's little traffic then I will try to push it to my second planned stop in Gießen and take second night stop before the ferry in Aachen. Once again thank you for all advice.

I am planning my very first long trip and just wonder how much time including stops it might take? Should I plan an overnight stop or is it doable in one go?

I got it sprayed with wd40, tried the spare key which is almost like new but no luck it's just completely stuck. I ordered new barrel but have no idea how to remove the broken barrel.

One o-ring that hasn't been replaced since new and a grain of sand lodged in pre filters seal is all that was causing the air leak. Drove it for about 600 meters first time in few years.

Just as the title says. What are the possible causes? As far as I know the same thing happened to engine valve cover but it's been swapped long ago. Its 1989 Mercedes 300E/D
