Radio Relay

After disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it the next day my radio stopped working. It was running under constant power before and i was switching it on and off by removing the front of the radio. After some research i found that the radio was supposed to be only powered when the ignition was on so i went in search of the relay which was described in another post to be above the gas pedal. I couldn’t find it and still don’t know why the radio isn’t working.

My first car at 21

After years of saving, this is my first self bought car. A 88‘ 160hp 944 here in Germany. I purchased it for 9.3k€ and am aware of the work it needs but don’t mind as i enjoy working on cars. I am pretty happy with my purchase and will hopefully be reporting back after a year of ownership. I was surprised how much cheaper insurance is for old cars like these. Im currently in my second year of my bachelor in Aerospace and have a large friend group all sharing a hobby in cars. On a day to day a car isn’t necessary for me so its purely for fun and roadtrips.

Battery and engine bay

As per usual with new owners i have stumbled over more things that i am curious about, i was wondering if such a large assortment of cable at the battery was a usual thing or some weird aftermarket cabling (fire hazard) the previous owner had added, i was also curious about this open port at the back of the engine and what purpose it serves

Air vent

Recently bought this, a 88’ 944 with Kat (160hp) facelift interior. It seems sadly that the previous owner also worked on it a lot himself even though he didn’t have much experience with cars, resulting in a lot of broken trim and missing screws. I was wondering why he has glued a piece of plastic in the middle airvent resulting in it not working at all, anyone have an idea what the benefit of that is?
