is irish citizenship okay as an aspiring solicitor ?

Hello everyone, might not be the best sub to ask but should I as an aspiring solicitor, look into getting British citizenship?

I’m technically a citizen of the ROI but have been living in the UK after moving here as a child in 2018. I know that it’s not necessary to get citizenship to work in the UK for me but would my citizenship hinder me in my future legal career? Ireland also have an expedited pathway to British citizenship afaik so it wouldn’t be too difficult.

I don’t really want to give up my ROI citizenship though as it’s been more useful in airports due to being part of the EU

desperate for accom :/

so like a silly idiot i got my tenancy cancelled at deakins place for missing the first rent payment in august (technically not entirely my fault as my parents were going to pay the rent until i got my sfe and settled at uni, but my mum forgot).

i was going to be in a silver ensuite room for 8.7k per year and i had planned my finances perfectly around that accom, now i have no accommodation lined up and the room i had is not only sold out but also 1grand more expensive this time.

if anyone knows of anyone doing a tenancy takeover for a silver ensuite room at deakins place for around the same price please let me know im absolutely out of my mind with stress. 🙏🙏

online resources for firm open days/events?

hello everyone, i was wondering if there’s some kind of digital calendar or article listing the opening /close dates of applications for every major law firm’s open days/ events, specifically targeted towards first years ideally. I have compiled a short list myself but it would be really helpful if i could find other resources as I don’t want to miss a single opportunity.

Thanks in advance

going by middle name in legal career?

hi everyone, i have an ethnic name as my first name that’s not really THAT hard to pronounce but i worry if it would restrict me from jobs/applications as statistically it’s less than beneficial to have a foreign sounding name.

should i start going by my legal middle name on applications and on my linkedin or is this not the best idea as it feels like lying in a way? since my passport and legal documents show my first name. all replies /advice are appreciated

why does hannah kae try so hard to look like a child

even looking at this makes me feel sick, since 2021 she’s tried to make money from men by playing out the asian woman infantilisation fetish and trying to seem innocent and naive🤢🤢 this just takes the cake i can’t stand her type

how does one go from a tanned, bleached hair baddie (her best era imo, she looked so cool then) to a jobless woman in her twenties cosplaying a teenager?

tenancy takeover! (urgent)

Hi I am looking for someone to take over my tenancy @ SPC for the ‘26-27 academic year due to an unforeseen change in circumstance that has left me unable to complete the tenancy.

The total rent is 7,700£ (including all bills) for a gold ensuite room at St. Peter’s Court, located just a ten minute walk away from the Jubilee campus. The period of stay is from the 18/09/2026-22/07/2028 ( 44 weeks)
The room i have booked and am offering is a newly refurbished room in the new block, and the building is close to a Lidl, Subway and other stores that are perfect for a university student’s leisure.

SPC has a reputation for being an extremely social and diverse accommodation, and the team at the accommodation run many events that students can participate in to bond with each other and foster a sense of community within the building.

Other amenities include an onsite gym and a large common room for socialising, 24/7 security team and CCTV and a management + residence team that are available 24/7.

If interested please message me as soon as possible!
