St Peter’s Court - is this accommodation worth booking?

Hello! i recently made a booking at St Peter’s Court for the coming academic year, however the google reviews for this accommodation are horrible highlighting safety issues outside the accom gates such as stabbings and snatchings, a persistent silverfish infestation throughout rooms, hot water and heating issues, constant construction, inattentive management, subtle racism towards international students, inconsiderate roommates, etc. Does anyone know if this is a safe accommodation and worth staying at as a postgrad international student? are there any options within the same budget that i should consider over SPC? i was eager to book raleigh park but they don’t have any en-suites available anymore. any insights would be appreciated!!!!

Looking for Housemate(s) 2026/27

We are currently looking for three other girls to flat with us. It is a six-bedroom house in NG7; we are currently three girls occupying it. It's about a 20-minute walk, or 10 minutes by tram (which is very nearby), to Nottingham Trent University. We are all third years and all very clean; we like socialising and games and all :) The contract has started, so you would be able to move in very quickly :) Comment or DM for more information or if you're interested

Where do you guys do for lunch? (Incoming student question)

What do most students in halls and self-catered accomodation normally end up doing for lunch? The lunch on campus here looks good and cheap, but I feel kind of unhealthy eating out, so I feel like I’d go back to my accom, and make/eat food there or bring food out, but I don’t want to be the only one out of my friends doing that.

Also how good are the options?

CLEARING (English and creative writing)

Hi! After a hefty course change (biochem to English) I’ve been looking at unis that do this course and UoN is pretty highly rated. Can anyone here tell me their experience with clearing (was it a quick? accommodation?) and their experience with english and creative writing?

Does anyone know if there is a general group on Instagram or Snapchat for freshers ?

I’ve seen of course many people on tiktok claiming they have such group chats, and say I should follow them…
Is there anything for notts law as well?

I know these are stupid questions, but had to make sure.

are there any accommodations near (eg 5-10 min walk) the university park campus that wont bankrupt me?

yh another accomodation post im sorry 🫩

obviously i know theres the ones listed on uon website. just wondering if anyone knows of any hidden ones that arent listed that are near the campus

Also taking this opportunity to ask how far from campus is too far? in terms of both walking distance and by bus, and in terms of needing to get to campus immediately at a random time (does that even happen?)

UON master's mental health research study- Non-invasive ultrasound vagus nerve stimulation

Hello all, there is currently a research study being conducted at the University of Nottingham School of Medicine by Master's Students. We are interested in examining the influence of non-invasive ultrasound vagal nerve stimulation on the gut-brain axis, emotional well-being, memory, and motivation in self-identified depressed individuals. We are looking for individuals that believe they are in overall good health, believe they have depressive symptoms, and are not suicidal. Individuals interested will be asked to attend 3 in-person sessions, one baseline session of around 30 minutes, and then 2 stimulation sessions of around 1 hour and a half. Each of these sessions would be 4 days apart and individuals who complete the study will be compensated up to £40 in vouchers. If interested please scan the QR code on the recruitment poster or click this qualtrics survery link.

General vibes on Vita Student, Talbot Street, Trinity Square, or Nova for a CS Master's?

Hey r/UoN,

I’m heading this September for an MSc in Computer Science. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around accommodation, and after going to a pre-departure event, I think I might need to readjust my approach.

Up until now, I was only looking at options within a 15-minute walk of campus. However, a few people mentioned that for a Master's degree, you don't necessarily have to be physically on campus every single day and that a huge portion of my workload would be independent learning, so I might be spending way more time in my room than I initially thought. Because of this, I'm open to looking a bit further out at places that are closer to the city centre.

I've shortlisted these four options:

  • Vita Student Station Street
  • Study Inn Talbot Street
  • Student Roost Trinity Square
  • Collegiate Nova

If you've lived in any of these, what is the actual living experience and general vibe like there?

For the CS postgrads out there, how accurate is the schedule advice? Are you actually spending fewer days on campus, or should I still factor in a heavy weekly commute?

Also, if there’s anything else that I should know (as an incoming CS postgrad, not strictly accommodation related), please feel free to share!

Thanks for any help!
