Looking for a new industry

Hi,

Had a question regarding some open positions for claims adjusters (Property/Vehicle). I have never worked in insurance, but have 3 years as a Surveillance Supervisor in the Casino Industry in Vegas which involves heavy report writing/documentation, risk management, auditing, and overall casino expertise. I have also worked in the luxury furniture business for about 4 years prior to this as a service/delivery guy. Am I even remotely qualified for these postions?

Thanks!

Travelers Outside Property Associate Claim Representative Question

Hi,

I just applied to Travelers Outside Property Associate Claim Representative and I had a couple questions. Am I even remotely qualified for this job?

Also, I am trying to reach out to a recruiter or anything possible to try and land an interview, but cannot find any on LinkedIn. Is it possible to find a recruiter in my area?

Thanks!

Compliance Analyst Position

Hi,

I am looking to change career paths from the Casino Industry (Don't want to specify my position on here but I fall under the compliance branch of my company).

My day to day involves staying up to date on the ever changing gaming regs, company policy, and so on. I essentially need to know the P&P of nearly every department. I have roughly 3 years in my position as a Supervisor, and another year of that in a non-supervisor role, but same department.

I've been looking to move into compliance since it's along the lines of what I do now, but how will my skills look on a resume? I have formatted it of course to heavily show my compliance knowledge for my area (Vegas), but have struggled to even get a call back from any bank of gaming company. Any advice would be appreciated!

Pay cut for changing industry

Hi,

I'm currently looking at the idea of changing industries (Sub 30 years old) and have always liked the idea of IT. I build my PCs at home, and generally just enjoy troubleshooting software/hardware. I'm currently salaried at just under $60k USD yearly and there is an internal job opening as a tech analyst (help desk) position. However, I'd be looking at possibly a $6 an hour pay cut. I have a degree (non-cs related) and no certs. I can afford it, but was wondering if any of you have taken a similar pay cut to get into the field? Thanks!
