Install Subfloor first or call rough framing inspection first

This is a dumb question.

I am renovating a bathroom. pipes will be install using the drop ceiling below. I opened my subfloor for the plumber to install the new pipes.

Can I close the subfloor before framing inspection?

I thought they have to see all opened cavity, but at the same time, I can't frame without a subfloor.

Can I box out a 2x8 joist for a shower drain without using a full-length sister on the adjacent damaged joist?

Can I box out a 2x8 joist for a shower drain without using a full-length sister on the adjacent damaged joist?

All existing plumbing will be removed beforehand.

My plan is to repair/scab the damaged joist highlighted in blue with a 6-to-8-foot 2x8. Since I can normally header off a joist with a single trimmer if the adjacent framing is sound, will this 6–8 ft sistering detail provide enough structural support to frame the opening, or am I required to run a full-length sister end-to-end first?

Blue line is the repair, red is the header, red+blue is the shower drain.

Hiring trades but diying some work, am i going to hold up final inspection/payment

I'm hiring an electrician, plumber and hvac for a rewire, new bathroom and heatpump.

I plan on doing the floor, tile and overlaying drywall myself. This is going to take me like 3 months min. Am I going to hold up my contractors from their final inspections? How do people typically deal with this?

[Spoiler] didn't have to die

Spoilers.

Dunk completely missed a loophole

Any knight can make a knight. Dunk should have knighted 9-year-old Egg on the spot, strapped him directly to his chest with a Ergobaby and played on god mode.

Think about it:

  1. Maekar: Literally cannot swing at Dunk without murdering his youngest son
  2. Aerion: The second he tries to attack, Maeker is gonna team killed him
  3. Daeron: Is on the wrong team
  4. Steffon: Will not gain royal favor if he murders Egg
  5. Kingsguard 1, 2 & 3: Can't attack Egg

Baelor didn't have to die, but they were thicc as a castle wall.

This is worth the vram.

Should I hire this plumber again? Concerned about studs.

The 2 copper line (painted white) and PVC drain line is installed by him.

My main concern is the PVC drain since it is an exterior wall, from the right, the first 2 studs are under a window, 3rd stud is a king stud for that window, forth is a normal exterior stud. Stud is 3 inches by 2 (old house). Drain line is 1.5 inch internal.

The copper supply line looks concerning but is less problematic since these are partition walls. I plan on adding shoes and nail plates.

But I have a bigger project that involves adding a supply line and drain pipe through 3 2x8 floor joist. The plumber recommended copper supply line for that project. Should I hire him again?

2x8 is already weak enough so I'd be concerned if he start notching too much.

Fixing an S trap by adding a vent after a vertical drop

The previous owner converted every trap in the house into S traps for some reasons.

In order to not open walls, my plumber fixed my kitchen S trap by connecting it to a wet vent in the basement, after the vertical drop. This new connection is circled in red.

I am having trouble visualizing how this helps with the siphoning effect. I thought the vent has to be connect on top of the p trap (where the text "S-trap" is).

Is this design fine, or will this not solve anything?

forgot to mention this replaced an AAV where the text s-trap is. it is below the sink and leveled with the disposal

Best ways to deal with neighbor's unpermitted driveway

My neighbor turned their entire yard into a parking lot (roughly 50 feet), along the property line (hopefully). There is 0 chance the city would approve this.

The whole project took 7 hours from start to finish, so I highly doubt it's done correctly. The Asphalt is half a foot higher than my yard now, and is only 5 feet away from my foundation. My concern is encroachment and water, not to mention they have nowhere to dump their snow come winter (besides on my yard, which I plan on using for my snow).

What are my options if I don't want this to trace back to me? Well, besides selling the house.
