Really making a strange question here, but what is your FAVOURITE part of the show?

Personally I would have to go the Vees introduction. I personally thought that on a rewatch of season one that episode one was being really weak about introducing everyone and everything, and I assumed that the Vees would be much of the same, but actually no! They let you figure out things for yourself, their characters shine through and it tells you everything that you need to know about them in an actually interesting way.

So what are your guys favourite part?

I am considering a rework of the sub (READ DESCRIPTION)

As it stands, we are a subreddit that is mostly based around documenting CAHH when they suck, but in reality that was only part of the subs original purpose. When we were very small, only a 100 members, this sub was very focused around discussion of the hellaverse as a show, posts about what people didn’t like, posts about what people did like, and I’m starting to miss that a little.

Recently I was on holiday for two weeks and so of course moderation took a big dip, and I’ve just started to feel like the sub is too negative constantly now. We had a post of someone literally being misogynistic that I didn’t see, but fortunately it got taken down by the user due to your guys backlash (thank you guys!), also a rise in users that I would consider haters due to their shitty repetitive and generally weird arguments that make little sense.

But yeah, I want to try and rework the sub to make it more positive or at least have different aspects of it than just complaining all the time. This would probably be encouraging discussion posts more, removing posts that have nothing to say, and removing more arguments which are not given a factual backing and come across as mindless hate.

None of this happened but report it if it does

Literally all of this is stuff which if done would get automatically blocked by Reddit, because I am a mod on the sub and this is how Reddit works.

And I would like to assert something very clearly that I have asserted before, and that is that we are not a hate subreddit. We are a critique and discussion subreddit about Hazbin/Helluva that also works to document when people refuse criticism of the show for unfair reasons or harass critics. (Please view the pinned post "What does the Crazy in our name mean" for more information)

Please do report anything like in this comment as I would remove and likely ban any user that says anything along those lines. But as far as I know this has not happened in any capacity.

Thank you!

The Great Wall of Text

“They just don’t like the show because it got famous” It’s really interesting that popular things get more attention when people know about them instead of things that people don’t know about.

“They say it has too much swear and talks about it dark themes which are two pillars of adult animation” I don’t think anyone critiques Hazbin because it tackles dark themes, I think people dislike Hazbin for tackling dark themes when it does it badly.

“They say her writing is shit but can’t give an example except repeating the words ‘the writing is shit’” You’re right I have no examples of the terrible exposition in Hazbin hotel.

Example 1: Carmilla Carmine

> You’re buying weapons from THE Carmilla Carmine?

> Of course, she is the biggest arms dealer in Hell.

Like dude why would you have this conversation. You both know who she is. She is a big arms dealer. Shocker that someone buys weapons from a big arms dealer. I wonder why they were saying this if they both clearly knew it and ohhhhh it’s just for the audience.

Example 2: Episode 1 Storybook Intro/infodump

This is a 2 minute info dump delivered with the narrative prose of a history textbook do I need to explain.

Also it ends with Charlie saying “I get pretty worked up when an extermination happens. This story helps.” Yes thank you for reading the exposition book the second the viewer needs it. This comes across as very natural and a very normal thing to do that normal people do. Also it is very normal to get “worked up” when people get genocided nothing more 😭

Example 3: Angel dust is a pornstar exposition

> Why don’t you make use of the talent you have here?

> Angel, you are a pornstar.

Yes that’s what he meant why are you saying this. “You know since you want this painting done I could always do it” “you are an interior decorator” like dude everyone knows this, this isn’t natural dialogue to have.

Example 4: Angel during masquerade just before Loser Baby

Wow this episode is going so well this scene is very subtle about it, he is saying he knew the drink is drugged wow I can infer how self destructive he is right now this is very deep wait a second he just is saying that out loud now. Oh no. Fuck it was going so well this is so ass. Oh my god there is no nuance I am listening to someone explaining their entire mental situation this is so boring.

“They are hypocritical because South Park is so much worse than Hazbin” Wait… what the fuck did I do?

“South Park has so much swearing (paraphrased)” I think the issue people have with the swearing in Vivs shows is it feels out of place meanwhile south part is about a bunch of kids who talk like kids, and kids like swearing because swearing is adult and cool.

Also please format your walls of text better. Paragraphs and punctuation on longer comments really help comments not feel like a horrible thing to read and navigate for citations.

I should also clarify the comment keeps going and going and going to the point I couldn’t fit all of it on my screen, and not a paragraph or full stop in sight. 😭

Mfs when a critique video about a show with 2 seasons is long and they were watching it to criticise it (not allowed)

Like wow who would guess it takes 1 hour to sum up all your points about a show with lots and lots of content????? Clearly they are dragging it because they are an EVIL hater and if I watched it (which I didn’t obviously I would never engage with the content I say is bad to see if it’s bad) it would all be BAD FAITH CRITICISM and they MUST have NO MEDIA LITERACY!!!!!!!!!

Also fuck are you guys complaining about a SHOW REVIEWER REVIEWING A SHOW THEY DONT LIKE. Are media reviewers only meant to review things they like? Are you meant to watch it, go “wow this sucks ass guess I have to stop watching and never talk about it because some mfs on Reddit will get annoyed and call me a crazy hater if I do”

Bro why are you searching vivziepop on twitter and screenshotting the tweets you see 😭

Like the word “Vivziepop” is highlighted we know what you were doing 😭 “Look at all the hate vivziepop gets if I search her name and scroll for a while this is so sad”

Also I deadass love how awful Viv’s response is. Logical fallacy central over here. We got Tu Quoque (Appeal to hypocrisy), strawmanning, fallacy of relative provision (“There are more important arguments we could have”), and then Ad Hominem with “Grow up” by calling your opponent childish. Impressive!

And of course I understand so far my argument may look like fallacy fallacy (assumption that a conclusion based on a fallacious argument must be false) but what I’m going to say is that typically villain merch either focuses on their villainy or goes so far into making them look cutesy it’s funny, and overall I think that a lot of Viv’s merch with these guys is just… a bit meh? A lot of it feels like Vivziepop is trying to stir up controversy with the merch drop every time by putting out some controversial Val thing, which seems to work because one time she bragged about after all the drama with the Val merch it sold out extremely quickly, which would imply it was done to stir criticism, get fans sad about the criticism and buy it out of support for Viv.

Personally I don’t see any issue with Val merch being made, he is a main villain after all, I just think it’s being done maliciously to get drama and comes across as quite cheap and insensitive as a result.

Another case of them not watching… oh my god they watched the video

They did it. They actually did it. They watched a video that they posted on the sub. I never thought I’d see it come.

Do hate how everyone just ignores how Angel sexually harassed Husk for most of the first season but sure apparently making an Epstein joke about that is too far. Yeah it’s a shitty clickbait thumbnail but it’s not like it comes out of nowhere.

I know it’s TADC but god I hate indie fandoms

I just think this is genuinely so stupid. Why does every single indie fandom turn into a toxic positivity bubble.

My general opinion of TADC is it was pretty mid, it wasn’t terrible but I didn’t really like it that much, the character dynamics were just very bland (yes I would like another character narrating their entire internal monologue to another character and crying for the first 10 minutes of a finale that is really fun and interesting and never gets old) but god it feels like the fans had one really shit moment when people harassed gooseworx for making pomni and Jax main characters and the fandom locked in on full positivity mode. It’s annoying because now you can’t say shit about the show without people getting angry, and Jax being trans hasn’t helped things because the discourse is genuinely everywhere, now most conversation about the show is complaining either about how bad the fans are or how bad the haters are etc etc.

I mean god, saying that someone shouldn’t connect Jax to a real person they dislike and dislike Jax for that is genuinely insane.

I just fucking hate indie fandoms man.

Not sure why CAHH has decided to move on to just any and all indie “hate” or why they are so salty about not being able to hand out usernames of people they don’t like to other people who dislike them 😭

Like guys, the reason usernames have to be blocked out is because you go a little bit too far when you don’t have one, like when Pink King dared make a critique video about disliking Alastor leading to everyone calling him “pedo king” and sai lumping him in with a group she called misogynists to the point the mods had to BAN TALKING ABOUT HIM BECAUSE HE LITERALLY JUST CRITIQUED THE SHOW

This is literally why and the fact people either can’t figure this out or don’t care about this happening is concerning.

Also zero response to the content of the video whatsoever so great to see they’re keeping tradition alive here
