Advice needed. REDTIGER front‑rear 4K dash cam – rear camera suddenly stopped working, just black screen with lines
I have a REDTIGER Dash Cam (Front + Rear, 4K/2.5K, built‑in Wi‑Fi + GPS, 24H parking mode), and the rear camera has suddenly stopped working. When I plug the rear‑camera cable into the dash cam, the screen shows a completely black feed with faint lines where the rear‑camera image should appear. The front camera still works fine
Here’s what I’ve noticed:
• The rear‑camera feed was working perfectly for weeks, then one day it just went to black‑with‑lines.
• I tried unplugging and re‑plugging the rear‑camera connector at the dash‑cam end; sometimes it shows a few seconds of normal image, then reverts to static / lines.
• The front camera, Wi‑Fi, GPS, and loop‑recording still work normally.
• The SD card is fine (no full‑card errors, I can still see front‑camera recordings).
What I’ve tried so far:
• Unplugged and re‑plugged the rear‑camera cable at both ends (dash‑cam and rear‑camera unit).
• Checked the cable routing for any sharp bends, kinks, or visible damage; nothing obvious.
• Restarted the dash cam (power‑cycle the car / unplug the car charger).
• Tried toggling “dual recording” / “rear camera” options in the menu (if available).
Questions:
- Has anyone else had the rear camera die this way (black screen with lines) on a REDTIGER dual‑channel setup?
- Is this typically a faulty rear‑camera unit, a bad cable, or something inside the front‑unit itself?
- Does the rear camera in this model fail often, or is this more likely an installation / wiring issue?
- If it’s likely hardware‑faulty, what’s the best way to contact REDTIGER support/warranty for a replacement camera or unit?
Any suggestions on troubleshooting steps (firmware reset, SD card reformat, etc.) or whether I should just assume the rear camera is dead and push for warranty replacement would be really helpful.
