New owner question about rear seat cover

I'm about three weeks into owning a 2026. A week or so ago I put in a rear seat cover so I could just let my dog hop in whenever without having to put a blanket down. I've noticed that since installing the seat cover, if my daughter sits in the back seat, the seat belt display on the dash doesn't show that anyone is sitting there until she buckles up. (Before installing the seat cover, it showed her seat red when she sat down, then turned green when she buckled up.)

Is there any safety issue here? I'm wondering specifically about the canopy air bags in a rollover; would they deploy for the rear seat if the seat cover is somehow interfering with the occupancy sensor? Any other safety issue I haven't thought of?

Also, *how* is the seat cover interfering with the occupancy sensor? I assumed it would simply sense weight, but there must be something else.

Just got phished on NextDoor; anything else I should do?

I offered an office chair for sale on NextDoor this morning and got a message within 15 minutes or so offering to buy it. Like a fool I gave up my phone number, street address and Venmo handle; she said her son would come by during a specific time frame to pick up the chair, and she would Venmo me the money. Some time goes by, no Venmo transaction (and no son at the door) so I asked her about it; she sends me a screen shot of a Venmo transaction to my handle for the right price, but Venmo doesn't show me the transaction. Then she says Venmo told her they couldn't complete the transaction because I'm not using a business account -- so I finally wise up a little and go to her NextDoor profile and it's several thousand miles away from me.

Anyway, I've ensured 2FA is on on my Venmo account (it was) and transferred my balance from Venmo to my bank, and I've blocked her number and reported and blocked her NextDoor profile. What else should I do?

Ramp coming at Kruse Park

Very happy to see construction of a ramp down to the beach well under way at Kruse Park! Most of it was washed away when the lake was high several years back; they built narrower stairs a couple years ago but I've been hoping for a ramp, glad to see it coming.

Can I disable "Continue to this website"?

For my aging, memory-impaired, gullible father, I want Malwarebytes to block suspicious sites without offering the "Continue to this website" option. Is it possible?

POA for incompetent executor of third person's estate

I have power of attorney for my father, who is no longer competent. He was executor of my mother's estate. Dad was behind in filing income tax returns; his tax advisers are ready to file his return for tax year 2023, during all of which Mom was still alive. They are asking for e-signatures on form 8879 authorizing them to file a joint return.

The tax advisers say, "Since you are acting as attorney-in-fact, you may sign the e-file authorization forms on their behalf. These forms are for our records and authorize us to electronically submit the completed tax return."

Are they right, even though I never had any legal authority to sign for Mom? I guess I'm asking in general, does a power of attorney document that authorizes the agent to sign tax returns for the principal also have authority to sign them for a third person for whom the principal was authorized to sign?
