Are boxes really that necessary for drawing humans

Keep seeing everyone mention that drawing boxes is important for more or less everything cause it helps you understand 3d space and direction and whatnot. However personally ive found that its easier and even more accurate for me to draw dyanamic poses as well as anatomy using more organic ish shapes, like cylinders and bean bags. Bottom line is, should i force myself to draw humans using boxes if its less efficient than the other method?
