I really miss a large coke.

Just went to the movies and ordered a small popcorn and small soda. Drank half the soda.

😮‍💨. I have two transplant donor s in workup and am almost through testing myself.

But 🤬 man I really want a large ice sprite. I miss being able to pee it out. I don’t urinate anymore.

How do yall deal with liquid cravings?!? I manage 4.5l in 2 days. But today I overslept, was late to dialysis and only got 2.5l.

How to get off the alphabet?

I’m new to learning Brazilian Portuguese. I’ve learned the alphabet but having trouble figuring out where to go after that. I’ve never learned like this not in a classroom.

I try to learn random words or sentences and then in a week forget them.

does anyone know any cheap tutors? Might try that route

Anyways my aunt and cousins are from Brazil (Porto Alegre) and in the next year I will be going back with them to Brazil for a few months. I want to surprise them with at least basic Portuguese.

Should I switch centers?

I am currently at cedar Sinai in Los Angeles CA.

I had two family living donors for the first 8 months of evaluation. But they dropped off. One moved to Texas the other simply got busy with school and work.

I sacked up and sucked it up. It sucked but what can you do……

Anyways now I have 2 more donors. A family friend and a random stranger who found a flier I passed out to businesses and cafe’s. Cedars confirmed both in the system. Both are my blood type. Healthy. No medical issues. The Second Lady told me.

Anyways cedars is still ringing me through psych clearance. My psychiatrist wrote the clearance but cedars wants me in one medication for 3-6 months. And my psychiatrist wrote and I are still changing meds atm. My therapist wrote a clearance saying I was good; but cedars isn’t accepting it t one month. They also want 2-3 months in this.

I’ve already lost 2 donors due to time. Like everyone here I want off dialysis yesterday.

Should I try to switch to UCLA or John Hopkins? Or just tell my psych and therapist I’m good even if I would like to change my meds a bit more and sing that line till hopefully clearance?

I don’t know what to do here but I don’t want a repeat

Timeline for donors ?

Hi

I am wondering how long it took for anyone who had a living donor or was a living donor to clear transplant evaluation?

I’ve had 2 donors in the past volunteer and one was a match. She (my aunt) phased out out simply because of the length of time. She moved to Texas. She’d been in the process for 6 months and no end

The second my cousin needed to bring her blood sugar down before retesting but at 8 months now they still are saying it’s too early.

I now have a friend looking to test and cedar Sinai is saying that at minimum it will be 6months before they are eligeabke and could be longer if they find anything wrong.

Just curious if timelines for anyone else. My social worker is requiring 4 months of therapy before being approved for committee review. I asked could we expedite if my donor proved to be a match and she said no. I’m worried that my friend will simply change his mind if time drags on.

My transplant center as stated above is cedar Sinai Los Angeles California

Starting over

Complicated situation but I’m not getting into the sob story.

If you had to start over as an adult. No friends, family, hobbies, likes, anything….. what would you do and how would you do it.
