If I wanted to buy 1 oz total of gold right now, what would be the best balance of premium, size, and liquidity?

The possibilities are endless; 31 individual 1g pieces, four 1/4 oz coins, two 1/2 oz coins/bars, a single 1 oz coin/bar, or some combination of sizes.

For those who have bought fractional gold, or any gold for that matter, what sizes/products have you found to have the best liquidity without paying a ridiculous premium up front, or where the premium is justifiable?

Edit: this would be for my stack; the only reason I would sell is if it got to a point where I was bartering with it, or if I am DESPERATE for money.

Whatnot is a gambling addicts worst nightmare.

Bullion pack chasing is actually ridiculous. You watch someone pull a good piece and suddenly you’re convinced the next pack is gonna be the one.

Next thing I know I’m $203 in for 5 Mercs wondering where I went wrong. 😭

Whatnot really knows how to get you with those packs spins.

Worst part is I could’ve bought like 1/20 of gold, or 2 Libertads, or 2 silver slabs or WTV instead of 5 Mercs that are $25 melt.

“The deals are there” there’s like 1/1000th of a chance of actually getting a deal. Better luck on r/pmsforsale

Should I invest in a sigma?

TLDR; I brought these with me today to test at LCS cause I don’t have a sigma.

Traded some of my silver for these w/ some likeminded individuals yesterday… but for my sanity I gotta know for certain. These guys buy from the same places as me but… you never know.

Worth going through for numismatics?

Whole lot of 90% silver I've been stacking this year.

I think 90% has become one of my favorites to stack. I really love mercs.

It’s impossible to post in any PM Group on Fb 😑

I either want to sell or brag and can't do either.

Thousands of members and I see the posts from the same 10 people all day long. These are just 2 of the many groups.

I have made successful deals with real people in these groups before… but I would say 90% of the posts in these groups are scams by the admins/owners of the group targeted at newcomers or low iq people to add a cherry on top. Super annoying.

FRACTIONAL GOLD AT MELT

Paid less than spot for this little 2001 $25 Republic of Liberia gold piece today!

Not the biggest piece of gold in the stack, but I’ll gladly take fractional gold when I can get it under melt.

What do you think of this pickup?

I Used to Not Like Slabs… Now I Need More

I need more PM coins to fill these slab holders 😂
At first I thought slabs were kind of tacky, bulky, and unnecessary. But after I started finding them for spot or close to it, they’ve definitely grown on me. Every once in a while I’ll pay a little premium for one that I really want, but for the most part I’m just looking for good deals.

I actually really like how much easier they are to organize compared to regular capsules or tubes. Being able to see exactly what the coin is, the grade, and the condition without having to dig through everything is pretty nice.

PCGS slabs seem to be a lot harder to come across in person too, especially when you’re looking for specific coins or grades. So I guess that just gives me another excuse to keep hunting 😂

Slowly filling the collection one coin at a time. Always on the lookout for slabbed gold, silver, and platinum pieces to add to stack.

Is this an appropriate present for a 3-year-old?

I think so!

I’ve had this 1/10 ozt .999 silver 2023 St. Helena coin sitting around for a while, and figured it would make a pretty cool gift for a little one. They might not understand the value of silver yet, but it’s a fun way to start them off with something they can keep and appreciate as they get older.

Gotta start the stack young! 😂🪙

When I dip, you dip, we dip.

Had to make a trip to the LCS twice to buy the dip today!

Picked up some absolute steals for $758.10 total (LCS gave some discounts reflected on receipt totals):

MS70 2018 Krugerrand — $70/ozt
2016 American Silver Eagle (artificially toned) + blemished Britannia — $66.74/ozt
Chad 5000 Franc CFA + 2oz Intanglio Mint Greek Round — $66.66/ozt
$5.40 in Mercury Dimes + $2.25 in Washington Quarters + $1.00 in Walkers — $58.10/ozt

That puts the average at less than $62.24/ozt if we factor in the LCS friends/family discounts lol. APM loves dips. What do you guys think? Good pickups?
