Libertad premiums?
I was wondering what the premium is on Libertads over bullion/spot? I have five Libertads I’m planning to sell. Any help would be appreciated! The picture is of them I was going to use to list them.

$145 i think is decent...wanted a ms70 but those are way higher
I've been collecting Libertads for a while and there's something I've noticed that I'm curious if anyone else has seen. Certain years will get really hard to find. Prices go up, sellers start talking about how tough they are to get, and you barely see any for sale. Then a few months later, suddenly there are rolls of them all over eBay, Whatnot, and other places.
I've noticed it with 1983, 1985, 1995, 2015 and 2018.
It makes me wonder if the Libertad market is a lot more concentrated than we realize. I'm not talking about a secret hoard somewhere. I'm wondering if there are a few big collectors, dealers or wholesalers sitting on large quantities of certain years and releasing them over time. Mintage doesn't necessarily tell us what's actually available. You can have a million coins minted, but if only a small percentage are changing hands and a few people own a large chunk of those, they could have a pretty big impact on availability and price without owning anywhere close to the majority of the total mintage.
A year is supposedly hard to find. Prices climb. Then someone suddenly has rolls. Not long after that, several sellers seem to have them.
Maybe there's a simple explanation. Old collections get sold. Dealers find inventory in Mexico. Wholesalers buy large lots and distribute them. I'm sure all of that happens.
But I'm curious how often multiple sellers are actually getting these coins from the same source.
For the people who have been collecting or dealing in Libertads for a long time:
I'm not accusing any particular seller of manipulating anything. I'm mostly questioning how much we really know about the supply side of this market. If a few large holders control a meaningful amount of the Libertads that are actually available for sale, then published mintage numbers may only tell part of the story. And it could also mean some of the premiums we pay for supposedly tough dates aren't as solid as we think.
Curious what the longtime Libertad collectors here think. Has this always been how the market works, or are other people noticing these waves too?
2013, 2017, and 2018 1/20 BU Libertad Gold. The 2013 piece is the key date with a tiny mintage of 650 coins. Of course the other two dates are keys as well.
While on vacation I visited a LCS, they had this 5oz lib. Sticker said 6+ but owner said he could do $500. That’s quite a premium imo. Would yall scoop it up or pass ?
Ive got a 1986, 2002, and then 2008 thru 2024 1oz silver proof libertads, is it worth it to get them slabbed, they are in reat shape, I doubt they will all come back as 70's, just trying to decide what the long term position should be, slabbed or leave them raw i nthe chest in the boat that sank? looking for thoughts and opinoins from the community. Apprecaite the advice
Here’s a Libertad you don’t see every day!
This unusual piece features the 1990 100,000 Pesos Plutarco E. Calles pattern design struck directly over a genuine 2012 1oz BU Silver Libertad.
Because the pattern dies are smaller than the Libertad host, much of the original 2012 Libertad remains visible around the outer edge on both sides, making for one seriously wild overstrike!
PCGS thought the strike and finish were so strong that it graded it as a Proof 68 Deep Cameo. 🤯
A fascinating crossover between Mexican pattern coinage and the Libertad series, and definitely one of the more unusual Libertad-related pieces in the collection. 🇲🇽
I didn't realize how much these have appreciated since I bought them years ago!

Thank you!
These do not belong to me but I figured I’d share pictures of them.
I received this 2001 Libertad yesterday, and at first glance, I was honestly a bit surprised by its unusual color. I’ve got quite a few BU raw 2001s, but the distinctive gunmetal toning was so different that, for a moment, I wondered if I had somehow ended up with a fake. 😆
Thankfully, it’s the real deal—and a beautiful one at that. The unique toning gives it an almost mysterious character, making it a really nice addition to my collection.

Went to an LCS I hadn’t been to and snagged the raws. Had no 90’s Libs so good to add two. Paid a premium on the 1994 with some toning in anticipation of grading that (dealer was set to send it in with his next order).
The 2021 reverse was an eBay buy…love the RPs in hand.
