Finally got iCloud sync working pretty fast. Getting there was surprisingly painful.

I’ve been working on adding optional iCloud sync to Moneta, my iOS money tracker, and getting the basic sync working wasn’t really the difficult part. The frustrating part was getting changes to show up consistently on another device without making the experience feel slow.

It’s now usually taking around 3–5 seconds (depends on the connection) for changes to appear on the other device, which I’m pretty happy with.

The video shows two devices side by side with the same iCloud data, just to show how it behaves in practice.

I wanted to keep the whole thing optional, so Moneta still works completely locally if iCloud is disabled.

For anyone who has worked with iCloud sync before, what kind of sync times are you getting in practice?

I built a Transaction Map. Useful or unnecessary?

I’ve been working on a new update for Moneta, my iOS money tracker, and this is the feature I’m most curious to get opinions on.

The idea is simple, if you allow location access, transactions can be saved with their location and then viewed on a map, with filters by month and account.

I like being able to visually see where my spending happened, but I’m curious whether this is something other people would use or just a nice-looking extra.

Would you use something like this?

Moneta is free, with no ads, subscriptions, if anyone wants to try it: Link

6 months after launch, downloads are going up but my App Store conversion rate keeps dropping. WHY??

I’ve been working on my first iPhone app for about 6 months, and I’m seeing something in App Store Connect that I don’t fully understand.

Downloads are finally starting to grow, impressions are up significantly, and product page views are also increasing. But at the same time, my conversion rate has been steadily dropping and is now around 7.8%. (dropping 1% a day)

It used to stay above 10%, even when the app was getting far fewer downloads.

I’ve also improved the app and its App Store page quite a bit during this period, with new screenshots, more features and a more polished presentation, so I expected conversion to at least remain relatively stable.

Is this simply what happens when impressions expand to a broader, worse audience, or would you take a falling conversion rate as a sign that something is wrong with the product page?

I’m attaching my current App Store link in case anyone wants to critique it. I’d genuinely appreciate feedback on the screenshots, positioning, or anything else that could explain the drop. Moneta

After months of work, I feel like I’ve reached the point where I need users more than new features.

Hi everyone!

I’ve been building Moneta, my first-ever iPhone app, a manual money tracker, for quite a while now.

My original goal was simple: build a money manager with fast manual expense tracking, a clean interface (iOS native), and no ads, subscriptions, or mandatory bank connections.

Over the past months I’ve kept listening to user feedback and turning many of those suggestions into real features. Every update has made the app a little more complete.

Some of the latest additions include:

  • Home Screen Widgets
  • Cash Flow Forecasts (1, 3 and 6 months)
  • Professional PDF Reports (shown in the second and third images)
  • CSV Import from other finance apps
  • Apple Shortcuts & Automations
  • Global Transaction Search
  • More customization options
  • Recently Deleted for transactions, accounts and categories (recover accidentally deleted data)
  • Lots of performance improvements, polish and bug fixes

Now I feel like I’ve reached the point where your ideas are more valuable than mine. My own use cases are limited, but yours certainly aren’t.

So I’d really love more of your feedback.

If you tested the app, I’d love to know:

  • What’s the first thing you’d improve?
  • What’s still missing?
  • Which feature stands out the most?
  • Would you keep using it after a month? Why or why not?

The app is still completely FREE, No ads, No subscriptions, No in-app purchases, No bank connection.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to test it. Every suggestion helps shape the next update. 😊

I wanted one money tracker that didn’t make me choose between a clean UI and useful features, so I kept improving Moneta

Hi everyone!

I’ve been building Moneta for quite a while now, and many of the improvements came directly from the feedback I received here. Thank you! 😊

My original goal was simple: make manual expense tracking fast, keep the interface clean and native to iOS, and avoid ads, subscriptions, and mandatory bank connections.

Once that was working well, I realized there were still lots of things that could make the app even better, so I kept building.

Over the last few updates, I've added:

  • Home Screen Widgets for balances, budgets and upcoming transactions
  • Cash flow forecasts (1, 3 and 6 months)
  • Professional PDF reports
  • CSV import from other finance apps
  • Apple Shortcuts & Automations support
  • Even more customization
  • Interactive charts and improvements to the Home dashboard
  • Global Transaction search
  • Recently Deleted for transactions, accounts and categories (never lose data by mistake)
  • Lots of performance improvements, polish and bug fixes

It’s completely FREE, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases.

I’m trying to understand which parts stand out most to people seeing it for the first time. And I'm still trying to improve, so keep suggesting interesting stuff ;)

Which feature would you actually use, and what still feels missing?

I turned my spending history into a clean report instead of another spreadsheet

A (Alternative): Most money tracking apps, such as Money Manager, Wallet or Spendee, let you export your data as CSV. I always found myself ending up with another spreadsheet that I rarely looked at.

B (Better): So I added PDF transaction reports to Moneta. Instead of opening Excel just to better understand or share your spending, you can generate a clean, easy-to-read report while still keeping CSV export available if you need it.

C (Cost): Moneta is completely free, with no ads, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

I’d love to know what you think.

Would you use PDF reports, or do you still prefer exporting CSV?

Hi everyone,

I’m 17 and a few months ago I launched my first real app: Moneta, a personal finance tracker for iPhone.

I built it because I wanted a money app that felt clean, simple, and polished, without being overloaded or annoying to use.

With Moneta, you can track expenses and income, manage multiple accounts, create budgets, set saving goals, add recurring transactions, check charts, use a calendar view, and customize the app a bit to make it feel more personal.

The app is free to use, has no ads, and has no subscriptions.

If you’re looking for a simple finance tracker without subscriptions, I’d really appreciate it if you checked it out.

A few months ago I launched my first app, Moneta.

For context, I’m 17 and this is my first real app, so I’m still new to all of this.

It’s a personal finance tracker for iPhone. I built it because I wanted something cleaner and less overwhelming than most finance apps I had tried. It lets you track expenses, income, accounts, budgets, saving goals, recurring transactions, charts, calendar view, and the usual stuff.

I recently updated the app, and I’m trying to understand what I should improve next.

After almost 5 months, it’s only at around 140 downloads. I haven’t done much marketing besides a few posts, so maybe that’s the main issue, but I’d like to know if the app itself looks useful enough or if the positioning/screenshots/App Store page are the bigger problem.

I’m not here to spam the app, so I’m mainly looking for honest feedback from people who use or build apps.

If something looks weak — the idea, UI, screenshots, name, App Store page, positioning, or marketing angle — please tell me.

Would you try an app like this, or would you skip it? And if you’d skip it, why?

If you would, here the link: Moneta

A few months ago I released my first app, Moneta.

For context, I’m 17 and this is my first real app, so I’m still very new to all of this.

Yes, I know — another personal finance tracker.

I recently updated Moneta, so the screenshots are from the newer version. The app is free to use, has no ads, and I’m trying to keep it simple and privacy-friendly.

The thing is, after almost 5 months, it’s only at around 140 downloads.

I know I haven’t done much marketing apart from a few posts, so maybe that’s the main issue. But I’m trying to understand whether the app itself looks weak, the App Store page is not convincing, the positioning is bad, or if people just don’t know it exists.

I’m attaching screenshots of the app and the download stats. If anyone wants to try it, here’s the App Store: Moneta

I’m not looking for fake positivity. If something feels off — the UI, screenshots, name, App Store page, idea, positioning, or marketing angle — please tell me.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback, especially from people who have launched apps before.
