Just finished reading Homestuck, here's my tierlist of characters :)

Never have and never will read Epilogues/Beyond Canon due to Jade angst :(

I think it a pretty self explanatory tierlist, most trolls don't have that much significance and I wasn't part of the Homestuck mania to get attached to them, so none are in C.

Is this really the end of Inscryption?

I have gotten to the "ending" of Inscryption. For context of my playthough:

  • Defeated Leshy (Part 1?)
  • Got into the weird pixel world
  • Challenged Magicus (Potentially wrong name?), who shunts me to challenge the robot (P03?). I was in my Sporedigger Pelt Grinding deck accidentally so I resigned, which led to the robot taking over Inscryption
  • Defeated all 4 bosses in Bot-topia. Watched the robot get his head snapped.
  • Grimora takes over Inscryption for a bit, gets deleted
  • Played with Leshy for a bit, gets deleted
  • Played against Magic guy, gets deleted
  • Luke Carder gets shot and dies

...and got the credits, which is the emptiest I've ever felt during the credits.

There is so many mysteries still, what is the Karnoffel Code and who is Amanda? (I translated the binary code in the video subtitles). I found allusions to old_data in Bot-topia, seems like an actual file somewhere in my computer? Unfortunately, I forgot the specific directory its in, so I can't go digging.

I mean, obviously this can't be the end, right? I was having so much fun. I'm currently trying out Kaycee's Mod back in the cabin with Leshy, but I'm a little demotivated to replay if I'm not actually "progressing".

Could you please give me hints of what I could possibly do with minimal spoilers? I know for a fact that I'm not done with this, give me slight nudges in where I could possibly explore with this silly game next.

Thank you for your help in advance!

DLC Help

So far enjoying the DLC, but unfortunately I may not be clever enough to put the pieces together :(

My progress so far is in the image. Like last time I asked for help in the base game, feel free to do that thing where you reveal stuff one at a time with progressing >!degrees!< >!of!< >!clarity!<, or just do what you feel would be best for my experience of the game!

I have visited all 4 "dream" areas (that's what I'm calling them for now). Each seems to have their own little roadblock.

  • Shrouded Woodlands
    • Followed the Stranger to the house, got ambushed and my flame blown out (I much prefer the Nomai, they're nicer it seems :) though I only have Solanum as reference). I thought: "What if I had my flame concealed?", nope, they forced it open. "What if I don't have my artifcat on me at all?" That was the coolest moment ever seeing everything turn all neon-y. Unfortunately they just snapped my neck :(
    • The point on rumor mode doesn't have an asterisk, so I just left it there, but naturally there is something I'm missing to that regard.
  • Starlit Cove
    • A little bit infuriating that it seems like I have more to explore (evident by asterisk). I did a full lap of the cove, appearifying the boat station too. I did a little testing with my neon mode, and finding out about the hidden boat area behind one of the bell alarm thingies. Unfortunately, I couldn't have my artifact on me, so I couldn't ride the boat.
    • I'm certain that it is incredibly relevant due to the hidden well video roll showing a similar boat, but I'm a little stumped on how to solve this.
  • Hidden Gorge
    • There is a cave on the non-cabin side out of reach, not sure how to access that. Also there's a Stranger watching something that I also cannot talk to due to there being no path. (Admittedly, this was the first dream area I went to, so maybe a revisit is due, as between then and now I did not know about blowing out candles to open doors)
  • Sealed Vault
    • There was a projection showing that I had to do something at the Cinder Isles tower to access 3 thingamabobs. I thought I had to sleep, and then go to the room again and the two lamps will be off, unfortunately doesn't work that way.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Finished Homestuck :)

I did expect to be left with a sad feeling after Homestuck ended, but that's like with every other media ever! Homestuck did have a very distinctive charm to it.

I want to ask, what's next? I have heard of Hiveswap, an Epilogue, any pointers to what order I should do any other content would be appreciated! Also, should I join the subreddit? The part I enjoyed the most about Homestuck was just seeing character interactions (Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 5 was notable). I'm itching to see fan content/art of the characters, but I am worried I might be spoiled for the other Homestuck media.

Some of my fun opinions on Homestuck:

  • Jade is my favourite human. Terezi is my favourite troll.
  • ACT 5 (ACT 2) was my favourite act.
  • ACT 6 is very chaotic (I was sad during the first half of ACT 6 by how Jade and Terezi are stuck in a bad place), and also has wack pacing at times. Particularly ACT 6 ACT 5 - every relationship seems to be falling apart no Andrew Hussie I don’t give a flying shit about Draconian Dignitary and Jane’s dad fashion trends and Roxy’s weird meta wizard stuff. It also pushes being contrived to the max, and character attention is really stretched thin by the insane size of the cast.
  • Umbral Ultimatum is my favourite piece, followed by Moonsetter.

Finished ACT 5 - Help with story and music needed

Wow what a journey! Even though the sharp tonal shifts and dense language sometimes confused me a little, I enjoyed it a lot! (If I were to rank the ACTs, it would go in ascending order, with Intermission on the bottom).

Music was phenomenal, currently Umbral Ultimatum might be my favourite, along with many, many others. However, I noticed (back then and also now) that there are some tracks in unlocked albums that I have not heard. I would very much like to avoid spoilers, and I'm also curious what the volume number actually means. (I thought it meant what ACT the music is in, but it seems like ACT 5 gets a bunch). I currently have the following albums unlocked:

  • Unreleased Tracks
  • Homestuck Vol. 1-8
  • Midnight Crew: Drawing Dead
  • Alternia
  • Squiddles!
  • The Felt
  • Strife!
  • AlterniaBound
  • Medium
  • Mobius Trip and Hadron Kaleido
  • Sburb
  • The Wanderers
  • Prospit & Derse

If you could tell me which ones I can fully browse and see where a song plays without spoiling myself, please tell!

The story is a little bit convoluted. ACT 5's ending is a little bit weird, seems like all 4 of our heroes obtained godhood, but did they all end up meeting at the The Green Sun? Jade and John seems to have skedaddled through the 4th (5th?) wall themselves (It was hinted towards throughout the ACTs, but I don't know whether its a thing that's going to be explained later, or that I was dense and didn't get something). It seems like the Scratch occured successfully, where they retain their memories. To be absolutely sure I am caught up to date and not missing anything, is there a Recap coming up or somewhere else online that explains everything from ACTs 1 to 5?

Excited to keep going!

Clarification up to ACT 3 (New reader)

I am actually quite enjoying Homestuck. I was wary of it at first due to the slow start of ACT 1 and falling into the trap of reading past comics on the CD rack, but I didn't mind the huge exposition being dumped in ACTs 2 and 3 at all, if only at the cost of being a little confusing, so I would love some clarification!

I have just finished ACT 3 (My last page: https://homestuck.com/003053), so please no spoilers after that!

  1. Jade is literally Apollo?? She seems to have insane future and past knowledge which I have up to this point just accepted as yep that's something she does. The bit where she dreams is a little bit confusing too, her dream takes place in the Medium? Her house in the dream is a moon? She literally at Skaia?? (sorry if I misremembered the name) I would love a detailed explanation of Jade's shenanigans up to the end of ACT 3.
  2. Same deal with Rose in the bsaement of Jasper's mausoleum. Soooo Jasper is dead, then paradoxically alive, then a newborn? (Correct my understanding of the teleport thingy, but to my knowledge you can basically teleport anything from any point in time unless it creates a "paradox"?) I'm a little confused on the entire basement ordeal with Rose.
  3. Okay so there's future people, the mayor guy, the mail delivery gal, and a shooty guy. Somehow Jade can communicate with them? How does she know to communicate with them? How does she know exactly where to put boxes to send them instructions? What are the big spaceships with Homestuck logos??

Having fun, just confused, thank you for any help!

Struggling to get started into reading Homestuck

I have heard very nice things about Homestuck, though similarly warned with the beginning. To those who have played Earthbound Beginnings, I hoped it to be a similar experience to that; A relatively okay and sometimes annoying (relating to Beginning's gameplay) introduction to a series, but is endearing at times.

I'm surprised how quick I found the beginning of Homestuck a little bit insufferable. I was trying to bear the edgy commentary, but when I got to the part where you can select from 3 games (?) from a CD rack (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/test\_index.php?s=6&p=001931), playing/reading 2 of them really, really made me not enjoy the style of Homestuck.

I really want to enjoy Homestuck. I know that it gets better (correct me if I'm wrong) at around Act 5, but if I have to drag myself through the style of writing that is present in the games (Bard Quest and the one with the pumpkin) I might just explode.
I would like to know if the games are mandatory to read, and if it gets any remotely better soon...

Just completed Outer Wilds!

At around the time when I discovered the ways to reach the inside of the Tower of Quantum Knowledge and the Sun Station was when I realised this was a really really unique experience that would be near impossible to replicate. It was very fun and terrifying!

I'm curious about the actual solution to the anglerfish. Tried floating along with my ship, throwing a scout down its mouth, ejecting myself out only to touch one and die, and finally the solution I came up with was throttle the ship full speed ahead and ejecting last moment, which works 60% of the time.

Endings I got were the one where you straight up die without the ATP active (very funny that I got this 10 minutes in my blind playthrough after jumping in the geyser), the one where you float far from the supernova's reach, the one where I stayed on the Quantum Moon with Solanum, and the main (?) one where I warped with the Vessel to the Eye. I'm happy to get informed on any other ones I missed.

Since I played with the DLC on at the very start, I'm not sure what it added. I did a quick search and the description mentioned something that Hornfels didn't understand about a photograph in deep space, realised I also don't know what that is and closed the tab immediately, so perhaps I have not actually done the Echoes of the Eye content? Let me know if I have or haven't, so I can keep exploring!

Just two left... (Help needed!)

Thank you to anyone who gave hints last time, I figured out every other branch! Unfortunately, even though I figured out how to warp to Sun Station, I can't quite seem to explore it. From what I can gather, there's two parts of the Station, but the bridge that connected them is now broken. I tried flying over countless times, didn't work. Usually I enjoyed figuring stuff out, but this is kind of frustrating me, please give me some hints!

Hit multiple walls (Help with game needed!)

Started playing Outer Wilds recently with absolutely no knowledge of it (aside from the fact that it's super good). I've tried my best to get by without any help at all to try to make it as authentic as can be, but I may be a little bit stuck.

I'm not sure what the difference in flairs is between "No Spoilers" and "Hints", I was going to ask if it is currently possible or not to progress with a tree, but the answer is most certainly "yes", so maybe I'd ask "where to look?" instead. Feel free to do that thing where >!you reveal!<

>!stuff one!<>!at a time!< with progressing degree of clarity, or just do what you feel would be best for my experience of the game!

Some of my progress and roadblocks:

  1. The Quantum Moon
    • It was an unforgettable moment discovering the quantum quirks of entanglement and imaging, and even more so finally landing on the moon. However, I was not able to get into the Tower of Quantum Knowledge on Brittle Hollow, which I am guessing is the reason why I have not been able to solve the massive wall on the outside of the tower on the moon when I warped to the 6th location. I have even tried to pilot my ship into the tower, but it didn't fit :((
  2. The Ash Twin Project
    • Scoured the Ash Twin twice after sand has drained completely, but no clue to where this supposedly indestructible cause-of-all-my-looping chamber is. I have seen the interior of the chamber in the mines and Black Hole Forge, kind of cool how there's potentially a third looper!! Anyway, this seems like an endgame kind of thing?
    • Also, the Sun Station might provide some idea on this, but I have no clue how to get to it. Tried to fly to it directly, and got roasted.
  3. Escape Pods
    • Admittedly, (and this will apply to the next one as well), I am quite terrified of Dark Bramble. The concept of Feldspar and the Nomai being trapped in it is creepy enough, but early on my playthrough I was naive enough to go in without my ship, to be greeted with some mindfuckery duplicate signal cloudy shenanigans. It creeped me out a lot, so I have abstained from going back for a long while, though if I have to...
  4. Green (Probe + Seed?)
    • I discovered how to go into the Ocean Depths of Giant's Deep. I was excited to unravel the branch that is the Probe Monitoring thingy (I could see that it was submerged in purple lightning), then got my ship blown up from the electricity. I did swim around trying to look for openings to no avail. There was however this island on Giant's Deep that had frozen jellyfish I spent a while looking around, but there wasn't anything. Do I keep looking? Can I go into the Depths?
    • Also, I did try to immediately book it to the Probe after waking up. It is a little weird how the Probe is shot differently each loop, but when it aligns well with Timber Hearth, I could almost catch it, but most of the times overshooting before the ship sends me back. I did have one attempt where my Ship crashed into the probe, and I died (because I didn't have my suit on and no oxygen?). Should I keep trying?
    • Inside the seed... Dark Bramble... yikes.
  5. The Interloper
    • This is probably the easiest branch to resolve, I ended my lastest session after finding out about Poke and Pye (hopefully I'm remembering names correctly) probably died exploring the Interloper :((. So no help needed here!

Thank you so much for your time helping :))
