So I just freed the >!nightsong!<, and I wanted to get thaniel. I started the encounter, but after the initial enemies show up, nothing happens, and the portal is just there.
Have i fucked something up? Is there a quick fix? Any help welcome
Hey guys, this is my first adventure as a new dm, and I'm a little unsure how I should go about notes/prep. I know it's different for everyone, just bare with me.
So I'm using Obsidian, a really good note taking app. I am currently going through CHP. 2, and writing stuff down so I can easily look it up. But it just keeps fucking going. I thought my neat little "travel" section map would just be max 10 individual notes. It's getting a little difficult to maneuver. Would it be better to divide the notes into chapters going forward? Or are there any other cool tips and tricks I can gain some inspiration from?
No I'm completely new to DM'ing, and it's fun! But I'm a little unsure about lvls in OUTA. We have barely started. They aren't out of the jail yet. So I know they are supposed to get to lvl 3 when they are out.
We have talked about milestones vs. Exp, and I am a bigger fan of milestones, but I don't know how to pace it.
Would it be easier to go with EXP in the module? Or do anyone have some cool tips (I haven't read the entire module yet, so if I have missed something important I apologize)

I'm a 28-year-old student from Denmark looking for a fun, social PvE guild on EU. I currently play on Silvermoon and recently switched my main from Warlock to Elemental Shaman, though I still enjoy both classes and tend to have a healthy collection of alts whenever time allows.
My main interests are raiding and Mythic+. I usually get AOTC each tier and haven't really pushed much further into Mythic raiding. For M+, I'm aiming for around 3400 rating and spend most of my time playing DPS.
My schedule is fairly flexible, with Tuesday evenings being the only time that's usually difficult for me unless raids start later.
What I'm really looking for, though, is a community. Progression is nice, but it's not my main reason for playing. I'd much rather spend an evening laughing with guildmates while repeatedly wiping to the same boss than clear AOTC in the first week with a group full of elitism and negativity.
I can be a bit shy at first, but once I get comfortable, I enjoy being part of an active and engaging community. I don't mind joining a smaller or newer guild either, there's something special about growing alongside a group of people and helping build a community together.
I'm also one of those people who enjoys messing around with Housing, so an active neighbourhood would definitely be a bonus!
One thing that's important to me is having a welcoming environment. I'm not interested in guilds where sexism, racism, or hostility towards LGBTQ+ members is tolerated.

So I'm a total housing noob. I have found some beautiful interior builds that basically have big room where the roof is really far up. I don't know if it makes sense, but is it possible to remove or move the roof further up
