If I a student asked you to make up points for a final because they didn’t have time to read 30 more questions because English is their second language would you let them?
Hi! I’m a student, and I don’t want to come off as rude or cause a scene, so I want to ask people that may let me know how to approach this situation.
I recently took a final for my AP class, and I studied hard for it, but because I moved to the US only 4 years ago, I’m still adjusting to the language, and it is pretty hard to comprehend information in a different language.
I had 55 minutes and a 100 multiple choice question. I got to complete only 70 of those, not because I didn’t know the material (I’m pretty sure that I got most of them right), but because I simply have to read questions a couple of times before I understand what’s going on, so my pace is not the same as of my peers’.
I really want to do my best, and I prepared for it every day of the week, and I just feel like it’s unfair that I don’t get to have the same chances as my classmates because I am not so great at English.
What would be a good way to ask to make points up without sounding rude?
UPDATE: I just talked to the teacher AND HE SAID HE WILL ONLY BE GRADING FIFTY OF THEM IM SO BLESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks everyone for the advice, I will be working on my pacing, I promise :)
