Spent weeks negotiating. Dealer changed the OTD price after I showed up.
Spent the last few weeks negotiating a 2026 Honda CR-V EX AWD over email. We finally agreed on $36.5k OTD, so I drove to the dealership, test drove the car (they even let me take it by myself), got the VIN, started setting up insurance, and was literally about to sign.
Then they came back and said Honda incentives had changed since the month rolled over, so now the OTD price was $37,380 instead.
They showed paperwork explaining the incentive change, so it wasn’t some random nitrogen tire or VIN etching scam. Still, after weeks of negotiating a specific number, it felt like the rug got pulled out from under me.
I thanked them, got up, and walked out.
A few hours later they emailed saying they’d “honor the number until Saturday.” I clarified whether they meant the original $36.5k. Nope, they meant the “new” $37,380.
Fuck this 🫠
Edit: they acknowledged the miss on their end a day after, they will honor the pricing we agreed on.
