Wrapping up our series with 10 Rams games from this current decade.
Los Angeles Rams 20 Dallas Cowboys 17 (2020) – The Rams opened SoFi Stadium in thrilling fashion. In spite of the lack of fans in attendance due to things beyond the Rams control. On Sunday Night Football in front of a National Television Audience, the Rams defeated Dallas 20-17 and gave fans something to look forward to in odd times.
Los Angeles Rams 20 San Francisco 49ers 17 (2021 NFC Championship) – Entering this game the Rams had lost 8 straight to the 49ers including blowing a 17-0 lead in Week 18 of the 2021 Season and allowing the Niners in the playoffs. It seemed like this meeting was going the way their previous meeting in the 1989 NFC Championship did as the Niners led 17-7 in the 4^(th) Quarter before Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Matt Gay put up points on the board to rally the Rams back and win the NFC Championship and advance to Super Bowl 56. This was the Rams first win in Los Angeles against the 49ers since Week 17 of the 2018 Season at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Los Angeles Rams 23 Cincinnati Bengals 20 (Super Bowl 56) – 70 years after the Rams won the 1951 NFL Championship at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum against Paul Brown and the Cleveland Browns, the Rams did it again this time at SoFi Stadium against Mike Brown and the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams jumped out to an early 13-3 lead before Odell Beckham Jr. went down to injury. Without OBJ, the Rams leaned on Cooper Kupp, 3^(rd) String Tight End Brycen Hopkins, running back Darrell Henderson, and a strong defensive performance by the Rams defensive line with 7 sacks on Joe Burrow. The Rams 13-3 lead faded fast as Cincinnati scored 17 unanswered by Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins along with a Field Goal to make it 20-13. A Matt Gay kick pulled the Rams within 4.
The Rams got the ball late where Cooper Kupp justified his MVP Performance saving the Rams on 4^(th) down off a run and converting a late touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to get the go-ahead score. It would be Aaron Donald on defense though that would step up in a major way, pressuring Burrow and forcing a stop on 4^(th) and 1 as Joe's final pass fell incomplete and for the 4^(th) time the Rams were league champions, the first league championship since 1999 and the first in Los Angeles since 1951. The journey was complete from the mediocre team that stunk up the Coliseum in 2016 to this winning team in SoFi.
Los Angeles Rams 17 Las Vegas Raiders 16 (2022) – The 2022 Season was a very disappointing one for the Rams to say the least. Following a 16-5 Super Bowl winning season in 2021, the Rams entered December with only 3 wins and injuries to Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp left the team in shambles. Entering the Thursday Night Game against the Raiders, the Rams signed Baker Mayfield as an emergency back-up Quarterback for now-starter John Wolford who only played the 1^(st) drive before the Rams put Baker in for the remainder of the game. The Rams trailed 16-3 in the 4^(th) Quarter with under 4 to go when Cam Akers scored from 1 yard out to make it 16-10. After the Raiders drive sputtered, Baker drove the Rams 98 yards before finding Van Jefferson to win the game after just only arriving 2 days prior.
Los Angeles Rams 51 Denver Broncos 14 (2022) – The Rams played their first game on Christmas Day in team history as they celebrated the Holiday at SoFi Stadium by laying a beat down on Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos. The Rams forced Russell Wilson into 3 interceptions as Baker Mayfield completed 24/28 passes for 2 touchdowns in what may have been the highlight of the Rams 2022 season.
Los Angeles Chargers 38 Los Angeles Rams 10 (2022) – For the first official time in the regular season the Battle of Los Angeles took place at SoFi Stadium. This time around the Chargers were the home team as the rotation was intended as a Chargers home game for 2022 based on the 2002 NFL Realignment. In what would have been in San Diego in another world, the Chargers humiliated the Rams 38-10 in their own building to ring in the calendar year of 2023 . While its an odd entry, it does symbolize the cross-city rivalry reaching a different level as both now shared a venue and it was SoFi that made both possible.
Los Angeles Rams 30 Minnesota Vikings 20 (2024) – With a win against the Minnesota Vikings on a Thursday Night, Sean McVay became the all-time winningest coach in Rams history. Previously the record was held by John Robinson. McVay however hit win #80, surpassing Robinson's 79 and claim to the title as the greatest coach in Rams history.
Los Angeles Rams 44 Buffalo Bills 42 (2024) – In perhaps one of the most underrated games in NFL history, the Rams and the Bills went back and forth exchanging scores before the Rams recovered an onside kick late and were able to score the victory. The Rams held the ball for only 21 minutes but made the most of every drive. The Rams lead 38-21 entering the 4^(th) Quarter before Josh Allen and company rallied back to pull within 38-35. However, Matthew Stafford on a long drive would find Puka Nucua to take a 9 point lead. Josh Allen wasn't finished however as in 54 seconds he ran it in and pulled within 2. But the Rams recovered the onside kick and scored in a victory in a game that doesn't get a lot of talk but stood out to me.
Seattle Seahawks 38 Los Angeles Rams 37 (2025) – Okay these last two are going to hurt. On a Thursday Night Game in Seattle, the Rams took a 30-14 lead off a strong performance across the board, only to collapse in a way that needed to be seen to be believe. Funny enough I had work at 7am the next morning and was about to go to bed when Darnold got picked off. I decided to sit longer though and just watch to the end and while I'm mad at the result, I'm glad I didn't have to wake up to the result instead, especially before driving a box van 200 miles around the I-95 corridor for a job that closed down 3 weeks later.
As it seemed to be in the Rams hands, the offense went 3 and out. The Rams then punted it and gave up a return for a touchdown to make it 30-22. The Rams offense sputtered again before punting again and within two plays Sam Darnold had pulled the Seahawks within 2. We all know about the two point conversion, I don't feel like writing it out but suddenly in less than a minute in a half, it was tied at 30.
In Overtime, the Rams drove down the field before Stafford found Nucua to make it 37-30. However, Seattle responded in the way they had all season with Darnold finding JSN for the touchdown and Eric Saubert on the two point conversion to give the Seahawks the win.
Seattle Seahawks 31 Los Angeles Rams 27 (2025 NFC Championship) – In a rematch from the Week 16 game in Seattle, the Rams fell short in Seattle once again as the Seahawks offense was able to put up points while their defense got a key stop after a Rams 2^(nd) and 4 inside the 15 yards line before Rams great Cooper Kupp helped seal the deal with two first down conversions on the final drive giving Seattle the NFC Championship and inevitably the Super Bowl.
And with that, those are the 100 Most Notable in the 90 Years of the Rams. There are plenty I should and could have added, but I kept it pretty uniform. Thank you for reading this list. I was unemployed the last 5 months and the free time was nice to get back to doing sports write-ups like I did in my younger years. We started our new job last week hence why this one was a little bit later. I will try to write more soon but only when the time and energy provides.
I still may do another Rams series. I had an “all-time” team list on the Rams Reddit but might think of something else or move on to another NFL team.
717 in Peach, Tri-State in Green
Cut to plays only. Original broadcast was covering a 2nd game on a field adjacent to it as well and thus this isnt all the plays, just what was captured.
And shits his pants. Does he still get Adrian?
We all have out of division but if their could be one team thats a rival from each division, who would it be? Gotta choose one.
For the Rams id go with:
AFC
East: Jets - I use to say the Patriots but the recent Super Bowl made New England more of a Seattle rival in that regard. Its not the Dolphins because I paired them with the 49ers due to their Super Bowl XIX. After that its us and Arizona and its hard to figure out who. Perhaps the Jets for us.
North: Browns - Its an older rivalry from the 1950s but we shared the same city and faced off 3 times for the NFL Championship and once in the Playoff Bowl. Unfortunately realignment killed the series and we haven't seen them in forever now in the postseason. But its good enough.
South: Colts - Carroll Rosenbloom and Robert Irsay swapping franchises in 1972 changed the course of history for both sides. That lineage is gone here these days but the Colts/Rams were an old NFL West rivalry too.
West: Chargers - I'd say it was the Chiefs if it were 12 years ago but the double move made it Chargers by default. The Raiders would have occupied this space in the 1980s and early 90s but the Chargers historically made the most sense given where the Chargers began.
NFC
East: Giants - NY/LA rivalry is kinda a thing but not really. The Eagles or Commanders are a close 2nd but the Commanders stems from the 1945 NFL Championship and Philly from the 1949 NFL Championship and 2001 NFC Championship. I guess you can throw 2024 in there too but Philly has more history with the Cardinals going back to their back to back title games in the 1940s and years sharing a division. Close call though.
North: Vikings - This one goes back to the 1970s. But we have met them in the 80s, 90s and 20s as well. A lot of great games over the years and meaningful matches. Lions are a close 2nd from the NFL West days but Vikings are still there.
South: Saints - This is tough because I can argue its the Bucs but they havent beaten the Rams in the postseason. The saints got the win in 2000 and lost again in 2019. Some say they really hate us from this and the old NFC West.
On terms of NFC West Rivals I rank them:
San Francisco
Seattle
Arizona
San Fran goes back 80 years now and that was before either played. St. Louis dimmed it a lot but the return to LA revived it.
Seattle is more of a 1b. The last 25 years have been a war. The NFC Championship really solidified its rivalry status but to me it was number 1 from the time I was 13 in 2004 til the 2021 NFC Championship. But its very close between these two.
Arizona made some sense in St. Louis from a football history perspective but in LA its just based on being stuck together for 24 years and sharing a city at two different times that neither play at. We did get the St. Louis Cardinals against the LA Rams in the playoffs back in the 70s and we did get Arizona playing Los Angeles but we never were division foes til 2002 and outside of St. Louis and Kurt Warner, they don't exist in the same function.
Overall:
San Francisco 49ers
Seattle Seahawks
Arizona Cardinals
New Orleans Saints
Minnesota Vikings
Los Angeles Chargers
Cleveland Browns
Indianapolis Colts
New York Giants
New York Jets
Division rivals come first, after that I go by history. The Saints are a former long time division rival with a good bit of playoff history so they get 4th. Vikings take 5th for our numerous encounters, Chargers due to regionality. Browns due to their history. Colts due to our history. Giants and Jets at the bottom because while the Giants have some the Jets have just become more or less a placeholder for the Patriots who I would have had there a year ago.

Attended the 2014 Rams/Redskins game at FedEx Field. Recently I recovered this film I shot on my awful circa 2013 android phone. Enjoy or im sorry or ya know
Los Angeles Rams 46 Indianapolis Colts 9 (2017) – After a disappointing 2016 season, the Los Angeles Rams came into the 2017 Season with a lot of uncertainty. Sean McVay had just been hired in January at 30 years old and there was a lot of skepticism about whether or not he was cut out as Head Coach. A lot of that was dismissed quickly as McVay and the Rams blew out the Colts 46-9. The points were the most scored since the 52-0 route of the Raiders in 2014 and the McVay Era of the Rams got off to a hot start.
Los Angeles Rams 33 Arizona Cardinals 0 (2017) – The Rams scored their first International win as they ventured to London to play the Arizona Cardinals in a “home” game. The Cardinals who had been a bane on the Rams the previous few seasons struggled to move the ball while the Rams offense stepped up in a major way, crushing the Cardinals and winning overseas for the first time ever after losing efforts to the New England Patriots in 2012 and New York Giants in 2016.
Los Angeles Rams 27 Tennessee Titans 23 (2017) – For the first time since the 2003 Season, the Rams were NFC West Champions and for the first time since 1985, the Los Angeles Rams were a division champion. In a back and forth Christmas Eve battle in Nashville, the Rams overcame Tennessee late and earned a playoff spot for the first time since the 2004 Season.
Atlanta Falcons 26 Los Angeles Rams 13 (2017 Wild Card Round) – For the first time since the 1978 NFC Championship the Rams hosted a home playoff game inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum against the very franchise who beat the St. Louis Rams in the organization's previous appearance in the 2004 Season. Unfortunately for the Rams, the journey in 2017 ended here as Atlanta stifled the Rams offense and played a near flawless game to advance to the Divisional Round where they would lose to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Los Angeles Rams 35 Los Angeles Chargers 23 (2018) – In the first Battle of Los Angeles since the 1994 Season, the Rams defeated the newly moved Los Angeles Chargers in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. In a back and forth game, the Rams offense put on a clinic while the defense got just enough stops to beat the Bolts and give them the first win of the series in what is likely the only crosstown rivalry game to be played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The win gave the Rams a step ahead in the rivalry and for control of the city.
Los Angeles Rams 54 Kansas City Chiefs 51 (2018) – In a game originally set to take place in Mexico, the NFL stepped in and moved it to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the midst of wildfires in the State of California. On a Monday Night in LA, Jared Goff and Patrick Mahommes went back and forth for 60 minutes until a late Rams score and two late picks sealed the deal for Los Angeles in what many consider to be one of the greatest games of all-time.
Los Angeles Rams 30 Dallas Cowboys 22 (2018 Divisional Round) – In a callback to their 1970s series of games, the Los Angeles Rams finally bested the Dallas Cowboys inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum where twice before the Rams fell short to Dallas. The win itself was the Rams first playoff win since the 2004 Wild Card Round game against the Seattle Seahawks. It also marked the Rams first home playoff game win since the 2001 NFC Championship against the Philadelphia Eagles, the first playoff win while playing in Los Angeles since the 1989 Divisional Round Game against the New York Giants and the first playoff win in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum since the 1978 Divisional Round against the Minnesota Vikings.
Los Angeles Rams 26 New Orleans Saints 23 (2018 NFC Championship) – In a rematch of a regular season game earlier in the season in New Orleans, the Rams rallied from a 13-0 deficit early on to defeat the New Orleans Saints 26-23 in the Louisiana Superdome. The win marked the Rams first NFC Championship since the 2001 NFC Championship against the Philadelphia Eagles and the first in 3 tries that the Rams won in the Superdome in the playoffs with the other two losses coming to the New Orleans Saints in the 2000 Wild Card Round and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVI. After the Saints kicked a Field Goal to go up 23-20, Jared Goff drove the Rams down the field before Greg Zuerlein kicked the game tying Field Goal. In Overtime, Drew Brees was picked off and one more Zuerlein kick gave the Rams the victory.
New England Patriots 13 Los Angeles Rams 3 (Super Bowl 53) – For the first time since the 2001 Season, the Rams returned to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for the Rams history repeated itself. 17 years to the day of Super Bowl XXXVI, the Patriots defense topped their performance 17 years prior only allowing 3 points, while the Rams defense played the best game a Super Bowl losing team could ask for, surrendering 13 points. But the Rams offense failed twice in the end zone to convert what would have been two Brandin Cooks touchdowns while Sony Michel ran in the go-ahead score for New England in the 4^(th) Quarter. Ironic because it was Cooks that the Patriots traded to the Rams in the 2018 NFL Draft and Michel that the Patriots selected with the Rams pick. The win gave New England their 6^(th) and final Super Bowl to date while the Rams suffered their 3^(rd) Super Bowl loss, and 2^(nd) to New England.
Los Angeles Rams 31 Arizona Cardinals 24 (2019) – The Rams wrapped up the 2010s on a winning note. After entering the decade on a loss, they finished it with a win in what otherwise was a disappointing 2019 Season. The win is most notable as it would be the final game played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as well as the final time the Rams would wear their classic 1970s-1990s Royal and Yellow uniform. The Rams would not make the playoffs that season but did finish 9-7, for a third straight winning season in a row, the first time that had happened for the franchise since the stretch of 1999-2001.
That wraps up this part of the countdown. Next time we tackled the 2020s. We should be wrapping it up there but we shall see.

So im starting soon and was wondering what the best sleep schedule is?
I thought about getting sleep after work if I have nothing else to do and waking up at night to treat the job like an overnight job but I was wondering if thats better than going to bed at 5/6
Continuing our list from the last few months of Most Notable Games in the history of the Rams with 10 more games from the Jeff Fisher era.
St. Louis Rams 31 Washington Redskins 28 (2012) – This is a weird game on paper to place because its an arbitrary Week 2 game. That isn't to say it was uneventful though. Earlier in the offseason the Reams and Redskins had the ultimate draft trade that resulted in the Rams getting numerous 1^(st) Round Picks over the next few seasons while the Redskins were able to draft Robert Griffin III in the 2012 NFL Draft. Early on that pick was paying off for the Redskins as they won Week 1 on the road against the New Orleans Saints and entered the Week 2 game with the Rams in St. Louis looking like an upstart team. Early on that showed to be the case as the Redskins jumped out to a 21-6 lead. However, Sam Bradford and the Rams rallied back outscoring the Skins 25-7 en route to a 31-28 win.
What makes this notable is it is the end of the Dark Ages in my opinion. Going back to Week 6 of the 2006 Season the Rams had gone 19-73 and with a win here the Rams fortunes shifted as they would win 20 games over the next 3 seasons, more than the 6 prior.
St. Louis Rams 17 Arizona Cardinals 3 (2012) – On a Thursday Night Game in St. Louis, the Rams sacked Cardinals Quarterback Kevin Kolb 8 times en route to an easy win over the Cardinals. The victory is notable as it was the first time the Rams had a record over .500 since November 2006, a near 6 year stretch.
New England Patriots 45 St. Louis Rams 7 (2012) – For the first time ever the Rams ventured off to London, England where they faced the New England Patriots. Unfortunately for the Rams like many meetings with the Patriots, this one didn't go well as Brady shredded the Rams secondary and the Patriots defense neutralized Sam Bradford en route to a 45-7 route.
St. Louis Rams 22 Denver Broncos 7 (2014) – The 2014 Season was a rough one for the Rams. In the Preseason, Sam Bradford was re-injured against the Cleveland Browns and as a result would never suit up for the Rams again. In his place stepped Austin Davis and Shaun Hill. Davis flamed out early but Hill stepped in as Rams QB mid-season. Stepping up with Hill was the Rams defense as they held Peyton Manning out of the redzone for the first time in his career and laid out Emmanuel Sanders in the process. The result was a dominant defensive victory for the Rams.
St. Louis Rams 31 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23 (2015) – On a Thursday Night about a week before Christmas the Rams took the field inside the Edward Jones Dome for the final time. In a Color Rush game, the Rams wore all yellow for the first and only time in St. Louis and defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers behind a strong performance by Case Keenum. The game was notable for the pre-game leaking of information that it would be the final Rams home game in St. Louis. With thousands of St. Louis Rams fans in attendance the Rams gave one final performance for the St. Louis fans and left the stadium on a winning note.
San Francisco 49ers 19 St. Louis Rams 16 (2016) – This is still part of the 2015 Season but was played on January 3, 2016. On this day the St. Louis Rams took the field for the final time ever going into Overtime with their rival of 70 years, the San Francisco 49ers. After a turnover in OT, the 49ers converted their drive into points, kicking the game winning Field Goal and sending the St. Louis Rams into the history books.
Los Angeles Rams 28 Dallas Cowboys 24 (2016 Preseason) – This wasn't an official game but for the first time since 1979 the Rams took the field in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The start wasn't so hot though as the Cowboys returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and jumped up to a 24-7 lead before rallying back in the 2^(nd) Half with 3 Sean Mannion Touchdowns to give the Rams a 28-24 win in their first official team function back in LA.
San Francisco 49ers 28 Los Angeles Rams 0 (2016) – In their first NFL Regular Season game since 1994, the Los Angeles Rams returned in spectacular fashion in a Monday Night Game at Levi's Stadium. However, whereas the Rams the season prior played the 49ers tight at Levi's in the Regular Season finale, the 49ers here would annihilate the Rams giving them a 28-0 beat down, made more miserable by sitting at the bar watching. Rough night.
Los Angeles Rams 9 Seattle Seahawks 3 (2016) – This was the first official game back in Los Angeles as the Rams reopened the Coliseum the way the 70s Rams left it, a low-scoring defensive slug fest. This was not the first time however the LA Rams faced the Seahawks as divisional opponents as the two faced off as such during the 1976 Season. In this game the Rams defense stepped up while the offense stagnated in a 9-3 Rams win.
Atlanta Falcons 42 Los Angeles Rams 14 (2016) – This game is notable for less Rams and more Jeff Fisher. Just before this game Fisher was given a contract extension as Rams Head Coach that kept him til 2019. This game however would mark the end of the line for Jeff Fisher as the Rams were ran all over the Coliseum by their former NFC West Rival, the Atlanta Falcons. In a 42-14 loss, Jeff Fisher tied the record for most losses by a Head Coach in NFL History. With 3 games remaining and 3 more years ahead it seemed Jeff would own the record, himself. However following this game Jeff Fisher would be fired as Rams Head Coach after 5 seasons.
That's it for today. Next time we take a look at the Sean McVay era and see how much we have to split it up.
