Nikay Chunav in 1-2 days! What are you actually looking for in your local candidate, and how are you surviving the constant e-rickshaw bhopu noise? 🤐
Ram Ram saryane
honestly, my head is spinning every 2 minutes there is another erickshaw or auto passing by with full-volume loudspeakers blasting custom songs, promises, and endless slogans from morning till late evening.
literally ca not even take a work call at home anymore without hearing --- vo vote dekar bhari mato se viajyi banaye😵💫
what are you guys even looking for in a candidate this time? is it strictly basic issue stuff like getting potholes fixed, garbage collection on time, working streetlights, or drainage that doesn't overflow the moment it rains? or are people still just voting based on party symbols?
also how is the scene in your ward right now, are candidates actually coming door-to-door and accessible, or is it just pure noise pollution? would love to hear what the vibe is like across different cities/wards right now
cricket is a religion, apparently, and other sports are just pagans (overrated af)
it is fascinating how a country of 1.4 billion people manages to fit all its patriotism into eleven men hitting a ball with a stick. we have world cups, we have ipl, we have ads selling everything from soap to insurance using the same tired cricket cliches.
meanwhile, someone wins a gold medal in wrestling or breaks a world record in shooting and the response is a polite golf clap. maybe a tweet from the pm if they are lucky. our national sport hockey is basically that one cousin everyone ignores at family gatherings.
the imbalance is not a bug, it is a feature. brands and media know where the easy money is. why invest in a wrestler who takes years to train when you can sell a jersey with a number 18 on it and retire early. it is simple economics, really.
we are not asking to burn down cricket stadiums. just asking to maybe look left and right once in a while. india is a sporting nation, or at least it could be if we stopped treating every other sport like a charity case.
let’s try making the olympic heroes famous too. they carry the flag too, usually with a lot less noise and a lot more grit. just a thought.
