A very vunique gift from the Ocean

We just had found a humpback whale mother with her very young calf. The dorsal fin was still folded of the litte one. She was playing and dancing around her mother when we saw something different and white floating at the surface. When we approached I was certain that we just found something incredible...leftovers from this baby's lunch!

As whales are mammals they nurse their baby's like all other mammals do! With the mother giving milk so their offspring grows fast and strong.

Whale milk contains up to 50% fat and 15% protein. So with a baby drinking more than 150 liters per day they can grow up to 45 kilos per day and develop a thick blubber insulation, which they need for their long migration up north.

Advice for those who may be struggling...

When I find myself struggling with any form of negative emotion that prevents me from moving forward with positivity and happiness, I find it necessary to remove myself from all screens, turn my phone off, and get outside in some form.

Gardening helps me unwind, but often just being outside and looking at nature will allow me to breathe deeply and reset my central nervous system enough to stop taking things so personally, and allow myself the freedom to not worry about the world or anything in it for a brief time. It's one form of meditation-medication for me.

I do my best to prioritize my wellness and health, but sometimes, life and the tasks at hand can get to be a little much. At times, it has led me to depression. Years ago, I started learning tools and tricks to catch this in advance.

Right now is one of those times. I can feel myself feeling pulled in so many directions, by my own doing, that it seems as if any plan that I make ends up getting changed. I can tell that I have been reacting lately instead of responding. This is what I need to work in.

I have a group of people who give me advice, and I love them for it. My goal now is to take time away from things that have been forcing me to react, and replace them with things I need to get done as well as adventure time in the woods with my Golden Retriever, Faith.

Does anyone else try to catch these things in advance to keep from going into depression? If so, what things help you guys re-center and get back to a place of peace and sanity again?
