false pregnancy?

I had her mated once 18 days ago, and now she’s doing this; can I assume it’s a false pregnancy? How long should I wait before having her mated again?

How long to wait between litters?

I have a litter of rabbits that are now 4 weeks old, and I’d like to have another litter. How long should I wait before the mother rabbit has fully regained her strength?

Green fodder in week 3?

I’m new to keeping rabbits. I have a female who refuses to eat hay, so I give her fresh greens, but now the babies are eating them too. Is this a problem? According to the internet, it can kill them, but if that’s true, how do they survive in the wild? What have other people’s experiences been with this?

bleeding nail

Two weeks ago, one of the quail injured its nail. I gave them a leaf of lettuce and stepped away for a moment; when I returned, the entire coop and all the quail were covered in blood. I isolated and treated her for a day, but it’s just happened again. I get the impression that this particular quail is the weakling of the group—partly due to previous injuries—and I’m wondering if they’re fighting or just being stupid.

breed ID

I bought a one-year-old female rabbit and was wondering if anyone could take a guess at her breed. She doesn't like being handled, so weighing her isn't an option. I estimate she weighs between 2 and 3 kilos

Pairing up 3 females

Can I pair up three females and let them play together every other day in a 7.5 m² (80 sq ft) area? If so, how should I go about it? I have a New Zealand, a Vienna, and a mixed-breed rabbit that is a bit more difficult to handle. They won't have access to their own hutches during playtime; that isn't possible with my current setup.

dull egg

I have one hen that has been laying somewhat duller-looking eggs for a while, but it hasn't been this bad before; what is causing this?

How should I grab them?

can I grab them by the scruff of the neck or not? Two of them are shy around people and don't want to be touched, and the other two—which I can pet—start running if I try to pick them up by the chest.

legally required to use a captive bolt pistol

I am Dutch, and here it is legally required to stun an animal using a captive bolt gun or electrical stunning, followed by cutting the throat; this seems a lot more difficult and messier to me than breaking the neck. Does anyone have experience with a captive bolt gun?

aggressive hens

I have a group of young quail consisting of 2 roosters and 3 hens, because I didn't know whether one of them was a hen or a rooster. One of the roosters attacked this hen 4 days ago. So I separated her; he went to freezer camp. I put another hen with the group, but the original hens attacked her. This hen in the photo had recovered, so I put her back, and this was the result. What should I do now?

why are they doing this

I have a number of quail chicks about 3 weeks old, and some huddle in a corner while others just lie scattered. Why do they do this? Is it too hot or too cold, or are they just chilling? The room is 22C (71F) and the heating pad is at back height.

This is the best I can find for chicks, but they crawl inside it. So far I've been feeding them on the ground, but they shit all over their food. Does anyone have suggestions for feeders?
