I submitted my resignation letter; boss rejected it. What now?

Hello, people of Reddit!

Long post ahead.

# I submitted my resignation letter; boss rejected it. How do I stand my ground when my boss wants to talk me down of my decision sa pagre-resign after I submitted my RL through e-mail? Is giving a compromise okay or not?

Gusto ko na kasi talaga magresign sa trabaho ko, so I did it kahit wala pa ako lilipatan na trabahong susunod (Let’s skip the part na kailangan may JO ka na bago ka mag-resign. I know that, and I also know I really need to gtfo of here.). I have been simmering this decision for months now. I know one reason should be more than enough, so I’ll put the biggest one here.

Kaya ko pa sikmurain yung isang taon na hindi nila hinulog sa mandatories ko, pero I can’t hold out for more than one year. They got my money, I got my 1-year experience to use as leverage sa susunod na aapplyan ko.

Mag-1 year na ako sa trabaho ko (September 8, 2026), and nag-pasa na ako ng resignation nung Friday night. I really wanted to give it to him in person (hard copy), as sign of respect na din, kaya lang, noong nakaraang 2 weeks, it’s either nasa site ako, or may mga meeting siya sa labas, so hindi kami nagtatagpo. So nung sumahod noong August 14, sinend ko na yung resignation notice ko through email.

The next day, nag-reply yung boss ko na hindi niya daw tinatanggap yung resignation ko dahil shorthanded ang kumpanya, at may issue pa ang kumpanya sa isang client namin sa isang project na ako ang nag-handle. Ako at ang department head ko nalang kasi ang natitirang PIC sa company namin, so kapag umalis pa ako, mapipilayan talaga yung company for a while.

Nag-private message din sakin yung boss ko, asking why I resigned, and what the problem was. He reiterated his position on why he can’t accept my resignation, hoping I would understand. He said wala naman siya issue saakin, and even mentioning that naka-linya ako for promotion again. He said he has nothing against me, and that he’s counting on me because of my performance so he’s hoping I’d stay.

I do understand. I really do.

But considering everything, I really want to quit. Ayoko din tanggapin yung promotion na yun (if it’s even real) because I don’t feel like that’s growth, I feel like that’s a trap. Kapag tinanggap ko yan, I’ll be stuck here for longer.

I also know na ang resignation ay FYI, not FYA, which means hindi kailangan aprubahan ng employer mo yung resignation mo. Once na ipasa mo yung resignation letter mo, tatakbo na yung rendering period mo, whether they like it or not.

I’m thinking of giving a compromise: Kung makakahanap sila ng kapalitan ko within my 30-day rendering period, I’m willing to extend my rendering period another 10 working days para I-train yung kapalitan ko.

Criticize my Resume and CV!

Hello, everyone!

I've been a lurker here for quite a while now, and pinag-iisipan ko nang mag-resign sa trabaho ko soon. Mag-1 year naman na ako, and mahalaga talaga sakin na makalipat na ngayun. And I know it's ill-advised to resign before getting a job offer, pero hindi ko na talaga kaya yung company namin.

To avoid doxxing, I made up a random personal info (Generic random name, random address, random contact info., random university graduated, picture of Peter Parker), and for other private information I can't just lie about, I redacted. The redacted parts are the names of the project that I handled.
