Fishing trip Interlakes (Cariboo) - air quality

Hi all!

My buddies and I have our anual fishing trip this weekend at his cabin in the Cariboo and we are really struggling to get a read on the air quality. We would fish Bridge lake, Sheridan, and Lac Des Roches.

The air quality readings are very different depending on what website we use and we are having troubles finding an “official” forecast for air quality and smoke.

We have a cabin to stay and could set up air purifiers but we want to also be safe and not drain resources on the area.

We are kindly asking for any information on air quality and what the community is looking like there in terms of advisories.

Thanks all!

Dallas American Thanksgiving Cowboys vs. Eagles Recommendations

Hi all!

We will be in town from Canada for the Cowboys/Eagles game and are looking for some recommendations on what to do! We are staying in downtown Dallas and are open to travelling about max 45 minutes-1hour in one direction to get somewhere!

We are not huge fans of museums/art/history/clubs with EDM or rap.

We are huge fans of food, live music and bars, and all things cowboy/cowgirl/cowpoke! We are open to all kinds of cuisine but definitely want to try the local BBQ! We like a range of environments from divebars, touristy spots, hole in the wall's, swanky upscale vibes! We are open to a good mix!

Bonus points for activities related to thanksgiving festivities!

Trout fishing lac des Roches - BC

Hi there!

We have been trying to fish lac des Roches in BC for the last five years with no luck. It feels like we have tried every set up. Local fisherman have currently advised us to use a spin rod with weights, a swivel, then 10 feet of leader and a fly. The advised method from everyone has been trolling.

We would appreciate any other set up ideas (we may or may not have tried it haha we have even gone back to basics with a bobber, Carolina rig etc.).

One of our questions was that we don’t have a sinking line for trolling. Should we be using heavier weights? What weight exactly?

Any tips appreciated!

APA 7 question: Am I over-citing in my theoretical foundation section?

Hi everyone! I’m working on a graduate-level counselling case conceptualization paper and I’m struggling with how often I should be citing sources.

I’m writing my theoretical foundation section on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and because I’m introducing the theory, I’m relying heavily on Linehan’s original 1993 work. Right now, almost every sentence has a citation because I’m explaining concepts from her model.

For example, my paragraph is structured something like:

  • Sentence 1: Introduce Linehan’s (1993) foundational DBT work.
  • Sentence 2: Explain DBT was developed for individuals with BPD/chronic suicidality (Linehan, 1993).
  • Sentence 3: Explain DBT conceptualizes behaviours as attempts to cope with emotional distress (Linehan, 1993).
  • Sentence 4: Explain the four skills domains (Linehan, 1993).
  • Sentence 5: Explain the dialectical philosophy of acceptance and change (Linehan, 1993).

My question is: Is it okay to have a citation after almost every sentence when describing one specific theoretical model, or does that look like over-citing?

I understand that I don’t need to cite my own clinical interpretation/application of the theory, but I also don’t want it to appear like I’m making unsupported claims. Would it be better to cite at the beginning of the paragraph and then again at the end, or is sentence-level citation appropriate when summarizing a theory?

Thank you in advance! I’m trying to find the balance between proper attribution and making the writing flow naturally.

Bars/Restaurants playing early World Cup games?

Hi there!

Wondering if anyone knows of any bars or restaurants playing World Cup games at 9am or 10am! Specifically looking at England and Canada’s upcoming games!

Bonus if they are in South Surrey / Whiterock. Open to anywhere though!
