What laptop should I take?

I am an upcoming IIT Delhi fresher from non ciruital branch(Chemical) and I am inclined towards software, it etc.

To prepare for good placements as well as my core branch studies, I want to get a good laptop, what should I choose? (Around 1lakh)

Should I choose a gaming laptop (compromising battery life and portability) or should I choose a non gpu lightweight laptop (like lenevo idea pad slim 5 etc).

Also should I consider doing ai/ml work in my 2nd Or 3rd year, I mean ofc I find it interesting but idk much.

Help me out.

Freshers hit me up let's become friends

So all the people who're gonna join IITD after josaa counseling ends.. Let's connect and become friends before meeting in hostels.

Partly because I suck at socializing irl so I would like to make friends online before that.

Let's help each other out in generic issues like laptops, what to carry in hostel, etf etf.

Any chemical engineering student?

Hey, So I am an upcoming fresher who will be joining chemical engineering at IIT Delhi.

I would like to target coding and software jobs, but Currently my coding knowledge is absolute zero.

Are there any people who managed to secure 25+ lpa in chemical engineering branch?

What should be my strategy at it?

Should I try for branch change in 1st year (At least to ECM, but would ECM be worth it)

If branch change doesn't happen, then should I take a minor in CSE? Would it benifit my career?

Any advice and criticism would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Help me out, 2.4k rank

I have these options.

IITD EP/Chem/Energy Engineering

IIT Kgp IE (borderline)

IIT Rrk Kgp Mechanical

IITB Chem/Aerospace

IIT Kanpur Mechanical

IIT Madras Aerospace.

Ok so from what I know IIT D Chem>IIT B Chem

And i would prefer IITB Aero>IITM Aero (not like I am taking aero, but still)

I am kinda not ready to go far away from delhi unless reward is really good, I will miss my family and stuff idk..
