Playing DotA2 in 2026

Hello guys,

I just break the 1000 hours landmark in dota recently. I know that is not much, I also consider myself a beginner in the game, playing (good) with 6 to 8 heroes and master in 2 or 3.

I played a lot in 2017-2020 span, and I’m returning right now with a new pc.

The question is, I played a lot of turbo matches, it’s easier, less stressful and last 30 minutes at mostly. I want to climb my level again, upgrade my mmr, but I’m feeling the matches last long, and the “reward” is not worth.

Anyone also think this?

Hey guys, I need your help.

Everything was fine until yesterday. I just bought and built a gaming PC, and was enjoying being able to play games I hadn't been able to for a long time (I previously only had a PS5).

My setup is a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ASUS B650M AYM motherboard, and a temporary RX 580 GPU (I bought an MSI RTX 5080 Shadow that's on its way).

I'm not sure if it's related to what I'm about to describe, but an AI (Claude) thinks it might be. Today I installed Armoury Crate to sync my PC's RGB lighting, and ever since then I can't launch CS2 and Dota 2.

The games start, Steam shows them as "Running", and the process appears in Task Manager — however, the game never actually opens. It just runs as a background process and the window never appears. This only happens with CS2 and Dota 2. Other games like Age of Empires and FM26 work perfectly fine.

I've already uninstalled Armoury Crate, uninstalled and reinstalled the RX 580 drivers, verified the integrity of the game files, and even did a clean Windows reinstall — and the problem persists.

Can anyone shed some light on this and help me out? I've been searching the internet for 5 hours and can't find a solution.
