How to navigate finding a new role after termination?

Currently negotiating a settlement agreement, on garden leave for the next few months. Obviously, I am searching for a new role. I’m in a few live processes but market is slow. I am concerned about how to explain this situation to a new employer once GL ends and I am no longer ‘employed’.

Would appreciate any advice on navigating this, wording for prospective employers/interviews. Thanks!

ETA: To be clear; I’m not looking for advice on the job hunt itself, I have that covered. My question is, how do you explain this situation (being terminated) to prospective employers.

How do you decide?

We are currently discussing TTC our first.

It is important to me to be able to provide our child with a lifestyle and opportunities that include a nanny and private school (for various reasons). I have a difficult relationship with my own sibling, as does husband, though to be honest I have always wanted a bigger family of my own. Additional context is that I have endometriosis, so if one child is what we get I would be thrilled with that.

I also worry that if our child has any additional needs (I am ND), this may stretch our resources/capacity if we had multiples.

We want to retire early from our corporate careers, and all of the above means we could make this happen with one child, but not two or three.

Husband wants multiples and is not concerned with these lifestyle factors (nanny, schooling etc). Would be happy with nursery/state school.

How do you square this circle? What factors did you include when deciding? Grateful for any insights from any similar situations!

Where are MOB’s buying their dresses?

Struggling to help my mum find a dress that she is happy with. Wedding is in September! She doesn’t want a ‘traditional’ MOB dress and jacket as she feels they are too matronly, nor can she find anything ‘appropriate’ from nice brands pitched at younger audiences. Budget is not an issue. Good tailoring is important! As are sleeves, so I’m told.

Would love to know where you (or your mum) sourced your outfits for the day!

What is the best vegetarian food you have had at a wedding?

For context I (bride) am vegetarian, along with my family and about 1/4 of our guests. I’m struggling to choose a vegetarian main option that isn’t a compromise and I actually feel excited about. We are having a share style menu and budget isn’t an issue, just inspiration.

Would love to hear any ideas from brides/wedding guests about what you have enjoyed!

Edit: thank you for all the wonderful, creative veggie suggestions! Seems like Middle Eastern/Mezze is a crowd pleaser and one of my favourite cuisines too. We will be looking for caterers for this!! Open to any recommendations :)
