iPhone 17 PM vs 18PM

Coming from 13 PM which is still a workhorse but wanting to upgrade. Thinking the smart move might be to find a discounted 17PM and then seeing if for 2027 when the 20th anniversary iPhones are released which will likely have a redesign and better upgrades etc. 17 PM 256GB is discounted in Australia where I am for about $1850AUD

Or

Could just wait and buy the 18PM in a few weeks when released. However, there does appear to be loads of rumours regarding price increase and the 18PM could be around $2250-2450AUD.

Or

Keep 13 PM until 2027 when 20th anniversary iPhones should launch.

How to stop/avoid lifestyle creep?

I'm a 25-year-old who's built up good savings and regularly invests in ETFs. Lately I've noticed I keep wanting to upgrade my car, phone, and clothes, even though I know what I have is more than good enough and I know I don't really need anything.

I know these purchases won't make much difference to my happiness, but I still feel the urge to spend just because I can afford it and have the disposable income and savings to do so.

How do you stop yourself from spending money on things you don't actually need? Any mindset shifts or habits that have worked for you?

2018-2020 Porsche Macan S or GTS

Looking at purchasing a 2018-2020 Porsche Macan S or GTS.

Wanting some thoughts for those that have experience with these types of vehicles around which model to go for, general servicing costs and if there is anything I should be on the lookout for?

Been watching lots of reviews and some say they are great for the money, others say they are just another money pit as it's a European vehicle.

Tomorrowland Core Melbourne Lineup

Tomorrowland Core Melbourne Announced its lineup today for November 28 2026. The general consensus from online comments so far appear to be that the lineup is pretty basic, including no big international headliners from the techno/house world (compared to core LA and Medellin) and that ticket prices of $210+ AUD for general admission and $500+ AUD for VIP is way too expensive. Tomorrowland Core Melbourne was announced in August 2025 with the event taking place in November 2026. That is 15 months notice that the general public has known about this event.

Unless there are some bigger international names to bolster the lineup in a phase 2 announcement later on...I'm unsure if the event goes ahead given the lack of demand based upon the current lineup to be able to sell 30,000+ tickets at the Flemington venue within 4.5 months...unless they move to a much smaller venue. Not taking away anything from the artists that are on the lineup, all very talented in their own right, however unfortunately unlikely to live up to the expectations of most given the other core lineups in other countries of recent times.

If this event doesn't do well, I'm afraid that it may have been the first and last event of the Tomorrowland brand in Australia for the foreseeable future which sucks because this lineup isn't representative of how big Tomorrowland as a brand could be in this part of the world.

LA core got Eric Prydz, Artbat, Four Tet, Hannah Laing, Nina Kraviz as headliners, Medellin got Dom Dolla, Artbat and Mind Against as headliners - Safe to say most expected at least 1-2 bigger international headliners particularly as the first Tomorrowland branded event in Australia to build the brand name up within this location, which is why I think the general consensus is overall disappointment with the lineup and ticket prices.
